Playing in meaningless bowl games is pointless - but lsu fans like to talk shite about other schools players opting out and fail to realize they started this whole opt out thing with Fournette

I wouldn’t Say anyone started it. It’s kind of just common sense.

If I know I’m about to have the opportunity to make millions, why would I play? People just need to accept the fact that you’re watching your future in these shitty bowl games.

Before Fournette 0 opt-out, after Fournette hundreds of opt-outs. By those statistics Fournette started the opt-out trend.

I wouldn’t unless it was in the CFP - which is why the FSU players made the correct decision.

Tell us you’re a simpleton who’s brain is rotted by politics with out tell us.

You just assume it’s about “fear” of catching. You forget about all the protocols that were in place? They had to get tested frequently and those tests were pretty unpleasant shall we say, the masking, the social distancing, online classes, restaurants bars closed, the season started late, some conferences initially were going to cancel the season, games could be canceled or postponed at a moments notice. It was a complete cluster frick. If you call a player that didn’t want to deal with that to play a game for free to entertain you, then you are a terrible person and a giant pussy.

McCaffery sat out the same bowl season and Fournette. It was also the year after Jaylon Smith blew out his knee in the Fiesta Bowl and fell to the 2nd round of the draft.

Fournette and Christian McCaffrey.

Both of which have had extremely long and successful NFL careers. Good choice for both

Christian McCaffrey

Opted out 2 weeks after Fournette. Which brings us back to Fournette and LSU starting the opt-out trend.

Two iconic players in the same year started it. And again, made the right decision

Do you not understand time? One started it and one followed weeks later.

That is not the argument

You asked him if he followed because of Fournette? Or he just happened to do it after? Y’all tight like that?

What's the difference between opting out of a meaningless bowl game as opposed to going pro with a year or two of eligibility remaining?

This! Objectively, Malik and BTJ leaving a season early hurts LSU vastly more than Jayden skipping the bowl game. Should we be calling these two quitters?

An undefeated season is still a pretty big deal in football.

It only happened six times in the 1980's and seven times in the 2010's. It hasn't happened in the NFL in 50 years.

When Auburn got left out in 2004, they played their arse off and took pride in going undefeated. Print the shirts and hand out rings on that one, you deserve it. You did something even the greatest college football teams ever assembled couldn't do. You can brag to your grandkids about that.

Yeah - sent him a message using my blackberry

Or he just happened to do it after?

Well by doing it after means that Fournette started the trend and McCaffrey followed.

I mean sure. It’s also funny that you’re defending a guy who openly admits on podcasts that he was the first person to skip a bowl game.

I’m not really defending because I don’t give a shite. If I’m even remotely close to the 3rd round I’m opting out. I think he’s smart for doing it, along with most of the others
