Jeffrey Burlew ? @ JeffBurlew 10m
Jansen said TPD time line "contains some information which violates my client's rights to a fair resolution of his case."

Jansen said TPD's time line could taint potential jury pool in Jameis Winston case goes to trial.
To me sounds like Jansen is expecting charges

Anybod y else notice the only people that are still talking about this on message boards across the nation are Bama fans and Ohio State fans.

Yes, the TPD keeps looking like The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight. I'm still puzzled by what they did upon the results of the rape kit. Was it positive/incriminating? If so, why did they not act immediately to send it to Meggs? Was it negative? If so, why keep pressing the case even now after it was sent to the SAO. Was it inconclusive? Was it tainted? I mean damn, none of this aspect makes sense...there seems to be no corresponding reaction to what was in the results.

While there is no definitive proof, it is beyond a reasonable doubt to assume that charges were lowered in previous cases with Noles players in the best interest of the individual involved. Saying that, the best interest for the individual could also be in the best interest of the institution. To be blinded by one's fandom allows a person to be ignorant and very irrational in situations that can be almost clear to most. In saying that, the same fandom will allow the opposition to be infuriated with hate and un-succumbed to reason. I think everyone needs to try their best to look at this as objectively as possible.

No. I don't notice that.

That's actually fairly accurate, for the most part....except he forgot FSU fans
.

once again, the Travis Johnson case contradicts this.
After two days of evidence and testimony, however, Johnson won an acquittal from an all-female jury that needed just 30 minutes of deliberation.

Not trying to be a dicke but your response does not apply to my statement. I didn't say that in all previous cases, i said in previous cases. So my statement only applies to situations where charges were lowered, i.e. Peter Warrick.

FSU, Bama, and OSU fans. So fans with National Championship chances...gotcha.
I dont know why you would try to minimize this. This is a huge case even going past the "how this will affect a team on the field" angle. Player rapes girl, university and police department quite possibly try to cover it up in order to put themselves in a better position to win a NC. This is a pretty huge story. The possible outcomes of this are enormous from all parties being punished from the university through some sort lack of intuitional control, police cover up, to Jameis himself going to prison. Not sure why you would be surprised that this is such a big story.

From the article Johnson commenting on why Meggs prosecuted him:
Hmm.....
quote:
"At the end of the day, this is still the Jim Crow South," said Johnson,

If any of the rumors are true about the other DNA being present then the case takes a huge swing. I really believe that the rumors are true due to the fact that he hasn't been charged. The only way he can be charged if this is true, in my opinion, is if the SAO and the girl twist it in to being consensual with Jameis but she was "forced" or "intimidated" by Jameis to have sex with the other guy as well. They can also use the pics, if they do exist, as a way to prove blackmail or intimidation.

How does this
equate to these?

I personally don't see how Winston isn't charged. If this were happening to anyone else, he would have been charged already. The evidence is very damning.

My personal opinion is that they almost had to bring charges in that case because of the horrible way in which the FSU administration handled it. The university underwent a review of their policies and procedures for their handling of the case, including trying to set up a mediation of the case between the accuser and the alleged assailant and having the dept of Student Affairs asking her to not press charges.

so what? what difference does it make in a criminal case what fsu does? does that change the guilt or innocence of travis johnson? ruiz did not offer a plea, and the swiftness of the acquittal demonstrates the weakness of the case, despite ruiz implying guilt even after the trial. if meggs's office decides to bring charges, he better damn well get a conviction this time.
