Absolutely.

But no one would feel bad for me if I stated that I hated my job and was just putting up with it for the pay.

If I had the same mindset as Jokic, would you appreciate the fact that I still worked?

Jokic doesn't just show up and do a good job.

Hes literally one of the 5 best players in the league right now.

That comment was in response to someone appreciating the fact that Jokic does his job well, a job for which he is paid $50 million.

It had nothing to do with whether Jokic cares, which, based off his mindset, he clearly doesn’t care what anyone thinks.

Just poking fun at the whole “I appreciate the job Jokic is doing and getting paid $50 million for, even though he hates it”.

I find that hilarious.

It’s not dumb at all… some of the tallest guys are absolutely uncoordinated and wouldn’t be there if they were even an inch or two shorter

Max Homa of the PGA Tour said recently he doesn’t enjoy golf like he did growing up. He did say he loves the competition.

A lot of players probably hate it. That’s why they’re “injured” a lot.

Competitive golf doesn’t sound fun. Golf is frustrating enough when you’re not playing for your paycheck.

Yep. He wanted to fly home day after they won

Was pissed when they told him he had to stay for parade.

I'd imagine a lot of pro athletes grow to dislike their sport simply because of all the time they must invest in it over the course of their lives. It's a job and not a pickup game at the Y.

Absolutely.

It becomes a job to them like anything else.

Really? There aren't a bunch of people who are 6-9 to 7 feet tall. And of the people that are, hardly any of them are insanely athletic . You come up with some very bad takes all across this board.

Maybe some of them resent that they're almost like objects put here for our amusement, like the gladiators in the Roman Coliseum, but of course they're not killing each other.

This makes me think of the premium lounge area in Petco Park, where there's a restaurant and an indoor batting cage built in where the players rotate in and take their batting practice swings in the restaurant area. It's obviously cool from a fan's perspective but I could see being put off by that as a player, treated almost like a zoo animal.

I’m sure he’s has loved basketball at points in his life but now it’s a grind and he’s absolutely fricking loaded.

It’s probably not even the sport and NBA season that he hates. It’s that it isn’t his favorite thing and he can 100% be doing whatever his favorite thing is.
