Nikola Jokic pretty much hates playing basketball.

Nikola Jokic on if this was the most fun he’s ever had in a summer:

“Nah, I think it’s actually opposite… We played 2 and 1/2 extra months."

The man stays away from the drama

He just makes his 47 million and jets back to Europe as soon as the seasons over and probably dreads going back to the states for training camp

Most people hate their jobs. The language and cultural barriers can't be fun for him.

That's wild appreciate the fact he can grind through something he doesn't necessarily like for the betterment of him/his family. Im sure he'll probably make it another contract or two then call it.

I've always heard over half of the NBA doesn't like basketball, and it's just their job they don't look forward to like any regular guy with a job

He's really never made it a secret. He was pissed as frick famously last year that he had to stay 2 extra days for the Championship parade instead of going home.

Its also really well known that he will almost certainly retire early and relatively young, and won't be playing into his late 30s.

He can live like a king at home.

He’s probably the richest man in Serbia, he’s got all he needs. I think he’ll sign one more contract and be done by 34 years old

I'd imagine a lot of pro athletes grow to dislike their sport simply because of all the time they must invest in it over the course of their lives. It's a job and not a pickup game at the Y.

I'm sure 90% of us feel the exact same way. Problem is for 99% of that 90% we can't just play out another contract and then call it quits.

Playing basketball for a living sounds like a lot of fun but it's still a job. Elton John was once asked how often he practices playing music when he's not recording or touring and he responded "Never. Why would I practice music during my time off? It's like asking a baker to bake a cake for you after they get off work. It's the last thing they want to do."

I don’t think he loves basketball but I think he exaggerates it to be humorous.

It really depends on the person. I'm a fan of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and I've seen interviews where the guitarist talks about just wanting to play guitar all day when he's at home. I've heard Flea, the bass player, talk about how on Christmas when his family was preparing dinner he spent some time in the basement jamming, and that's when he came up with the baseline for one of their hit songs. So even on Christmas he can't help but pick up the bass.

Some musicians see it more as a job, but for some it's all they want to do.

Uh oh, you’ve just triggered the “if you don’t like your job, find another one” crowd.

For 47 million a year I'll slam my dick in a sliding glass door everyday with a smile on my face. For that kind of money who cares? I wouldn't.

I'll say yes to the under in 4 years or less, he'll be gone. Dude complains too much for someone getting paid a King's ransom to play a child's game. He should shut his damn mouth and go and dribble as some wise lady said.
