ESPN’s Darren Rovell is reporting that Nike has not stopped paying Kaepernick since he last paid, and was “waiting for the right moment” to launch something with him. Now that we can say with near certainty Kaepernick will never play in the NFL again, the timing certainly makes sense.

I can’t imagine the NFL will be pleased with this. Nike is the official uniform provider for the league, and this is very much a thumb in the eye for the league. Kaepernick’s collusion grievance is moving to the hearing stage, and plenty will come out during testimony. It might not be entirely damaging, but the league likely would prefer the whole thing go away. Now, one of their most notable sponsors is dropping this ad. I’m sure the NFL’s Park Avenue office is having quite a Labor Day weekend.

Yea I’m not sure this was a good decision for Nike long term, but we’ll see.

Sure they aren't pleased but the NFL just blows up the story more if they do anything about it.

It's not the NFL Nike needs to worry about, they just alienated half of America. You've heard Michael Jordan say, "Republicans buy shoes too." Well, not Nike shoes anymore.

Buy Under Armour stock.

Well, Nike has direct competitors that pretty much fill the exact same need for their consumer

A lot easier to boycott that then the nfl that has no true competitor

With the filter and the facial hair and the slogan , this could double as an Al-Qaeda recruiting poster

Do people keep a list of the companies they're boycotting? Wasn't the OT boycotting Budweiser for a SB commercial at some point?
