Nick Saban announces defensive back Tony Mitchell has been suspended following the freshman’s recent arrest.

Mitchell was a 5-star prospect in the 2023 class.

This is why Saban will always be the GOAT.

I’m assuming Bama basketball coach made an excuse recently for a basketball player that fricked up and defended it with “wrong place wrong time”???

The full quote is honestly even better

Outkick

quote:

“Everybody’s got an opportunity to make choices and decisions. There’s no such thing as being in the wrong place at the wrong time,” Saban said. “You have to be responsible about who you’re with, who you’re around, what you do and who you associate yourself with, along with the situations you put yourself in.”

“It is what it is, but there is cause and effect when you make choices and decisions that put you in bad situations.”

Dammit. It’s hard not to like the guy. He’s trying to make men.

Accountability above all else, that’s why Nick is the GOAT.

Reauxl must be in a mental pretzel after he defended the accomplice to murder for like 37 pages

The basketball player has not and likely will never be charged, Nick. There's a difference here.

He hangs out with ghetto trash. You don't want a guy like that in your organization.

Meh, let’s see what this suspension actually entails before we say Saban is so amazing and a builder of men blah blah.

This guy is a freshman yet to play a snap not the best player on the best team going into the post season.

Plus this kid is actually getting charged with a crime

This does kind of the fly in the face of one of his previous rants that I agreed with about giving kids a second chance when they make a mistake.

That’s such a weak excuse. Coaches in multiple sports have disciplined players for breaking rules within the program that aren’t actual crimes.

I don't think we'd have to dig far on this board to find threads saying Saban doesn't discipline. Now all of a sudden we're gonna act like he runs a clean program. He's really good at making media statements

Can Robinson absolutely got off on legit charges too easy.

But what he did was be in possession of guns and drugs.

The basketball player aided and abetted a murder of a young mother. So different.

Mitchell was arrested, Miller was not.

Mitchell is accused of a crime, Miller is not.
