I feel like this whole tournament is just a cheap rip off of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Given how streaky hockey teams are the seeding is completely random, with 5-game series and a wonky format. Whoever wins this will get a giant asterisk with it. You work hard all year for home ice, then lose it in two bad games after a four-month layoff. They need to keep the hardware in the case and just call this the “NHL is Back Tournament.”
