Peter Bondra vs Patrick Roy

Bondra was really f'n good. He could score on anybody and I'd give him a fair chance of scoring a penalty shot on anyone, even Roy. Things could be worse, you could be in my situation...

St Patrick in crunch time makes me feel happy

Why would the Sens trade for Callahan? Isn’t he out of hockey?

Here’s a good explanation.

quote:

Callahan is probably insured.

Mike Condon makes 3M in real cash.

Meaning, of Callahan is 80 percent insured, Ottawa saves 2M in real cash.

A slight bonus is that they do it against almost 6M in cap. So now they are paying 1M for almost 6M in cap vs paying 3M for only 2.4M (1.375 if buried).

Cap floor isn't an issue for the Sens, but it doesn't hurt to have another buffer above the floor. That way if they trade Anderson, Boedker, or Pageau in season, they won't have issues falling below the floor.

In other words, Ottawa is cheap.

Draconian Sanctions, is this a good idea?

The New York state board responsible for economic development has approved a $1.3 billion project to build a 19,000-seat arena for the New York Islanders hockey team at Belmont Park.

Newsday reports the six members of the Empire State Development board voted Thursday in favor of the complex that will include shops, restaurants and a hotel.

The project on state-owned property would allow the National Hockey League team to move from Brooklyn to Elmont, in Nassau County, while creating thousands of new jobs.

It’s a 1-year contract at 900k.

Great value.
