Well, it was nice knowing you, Braden. If Bob's getting a $10m AAV, Holtby is gonna get paid next offseason as a UFA.

I imagine Dallas didn’t want to give Zucc a 5 year deal. I wouldn’t either.

A combination of that and the NMC he got with Minny.

Not nearly as bad a contract as was rumored. Nice!

Canadians sign Aho to an offer sheet. The last offer sheet was 6 years ago. Hurricanes have a week to decide if they want to match.

LOL, Canadians are dumb, many GM's stick together when it comes to RFA and offer sheets. You mess with others, they will mess with yours.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired defenceman Tyson Barrie, forward Alex Kerfoot and a 2020 sixth-round draft pick from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for centre Nazem Kadri, defenceman Calle Rosen and Toronto’s 2020 third-round pick.

Colorado is retaining 50 per cent of Barrie’s annual average salary of $5.5 million.

Look out Montreal and any quality RFA coming up in next few years.

Avalanche so far this week:

F Joonas Donskoi-avs pick up a right hand shot they need.

C Nazem Kadri. Trading him for Tyson Barrie is a steal for Toronto but probably a good trade for both because Barrie is redundant in Colorado now and Colorado needs a guy like Kadri badly. They have three more just like Barrie or better. The secondary trade here-Kerfoot for Rosen looks like a win for Toronto. I like Kerfoot a lot. This trade helps both teams. The Avs just got a lot more chippy. But to get a two-way guy like Kadri who can score and agitate helps the Avs tremendously.

F Andre Burakovsky. For a 2nd and 3rd. Helps the Caps dump some salary and REALLY helps the Avs for 2019/2020. The Avs covet that speed, and although he has underachieved and is streaky, they think he fits in much better in Denver.

These three guys really help fill out the Avs lines. The Avs still have almost 30m in cap room with Mikko Rantanen still unsigned. They are in an OUTSTANDING position with players, prospects, draft picks and cap space. Well done Joe Sakic.

Is that what we call head hunting now? Chippy and agitating?

If they are on my team they are misunderstood chippy agitators. If they are on yours they are called thugs who should be thrown out of the league.

Just hold your nose and make excuses.
It’s NHL fan tradition. Or as I call it :

How I learned to stop whining and love Dale Hunter/Matthew Barnaby/Darius Kasparaitis.

The Islanders lost out on Panarin but they aren’t done big-game hunting yet. Offer sheet is a very real possibility and Marner is the most likely target.
