John Clayton was a boom to the online content at ESPN and ultimately that's where everything is heading, a mesh of online and onscreen simultaneously.. I don't get many of their decisions especially when they involve cutting cheap regional reporters that help drive the original content that blends all the formats.

NFL Network will swoop up Johnny Good times in a millisecond. He's Seattle based, and they will accommodate him. He won't be unemployed long, his track record is impeccable and his reporting is highly regarded.

I wish he was going to NBC though so he and Dan Patrick can have a long interview about the Ponytail.

One of my favorites. Though I haven't watched ESPN outside of live sports on months, so I guess I won't notice he is gone

That commercial is still ESPN's best original programming other than 30 for 30.

Agreed, I couldn't stop laughing the first time I saw that

What I find remarkable is this...he literally sits in his home doing his reports and interviews. He's just hanging out at his house.

Same here. Only times I watched ESPN this year has been for the frozen four and the NFL draft. The individual sports networks offer better stuff in my opinion.

I think NFL Network actually does a better job at the Draft. ESPN is too worried about making sure Kiper gets his air time and only cater to the big market teams and/or players from big schools in their player analysis & coverages. If a small market team drafts someone outside of the power 5; they'd be lucky to get more than 30 seconds.

I hope you are right. I would flip around every Sunday morning between NFL channel and ESPN just because I wanted to hear what Clayton was reporting.

Whoever said that Clayton's info. was on the internet in a millisecond got it wrong. It was only on the internet AFTER Clayton reported it.

He was my favorite NFL reporter. This is the last straw between me and ESPN except for watching live games, though I have to say that it was only live games and Clayton before this.

Salisbury/Clayton podcast please

Salisbury hinted today that he was going to have Clayton on his TV show soon. I doubt they would get into it like old times, but it sure is fun to think that it could happen.

ESPN is simply working to achieve its long sought after goal of merging with BET...
