re: World Junior Gold Medal Hockey Game - USA vs Canada - USA wins! 2-0

Seems like they've gotten back to the short passes strategy similar to how they played Czech Republic for the most part. Whatever helps keep or increase the lead at this point. Thought last year was way too much individual play and lack of discipline.

A lot of roster turnover with PC this year:
Dugan out, they lost their grad transfer goalie from last year (Lackey is now with Orlando of ECHL - probably gave them about ten extra wins). They gained a grad transfer goaltender out of Alaska who stunk in the game or two he played before Stauber became eligible.
Down year for them last year, besides Dugan, and I suppose Lackey, I don't feel like they lost a lot. They got Jaxson Stauber from Minnesota State. 2 or 3 shutouts in 5 or 6 games so far.
They got Berard, another kid Nick Poisson out of the BCHL I think. Uula Ruikka, Finnish defensemen from USHL has been solid. After their last Frozen Four run I said 21-22 was the year they'd be back, they have a pretty big class coming in then. Hockey East lost a lot of talent - Zegras, Dugan, a few guys from UMass among them - but I looked at the team goaltending last night, just about every team has a solid goalie this year.
One thing I picked up recently was the Roku Express that's allowed me to watch NCHC game since they're not televised here any more. I missed quite a few games already, so I only briefly saw Duluth. Lost a lot of guys from last year it looked like. Actually last weekend was the first time seeing them play this season so I'm an incomplete about their outlook. Same with Denver who seems to be getting crushed.

Leaman may not always get the best players at Providence but he does a damn good job managing the talent. This lineup is like a video game for him. NCAA level is more my thing so I'm loving this tournament.

US brought themselves a great group of coaches. A little biased about Leaman but Mayotte was an assistant to him before he left for Michigan. Former goaltender. Probably a good thing after Knight's stinker of a game with Russia.
Knew of most of these guys from mostly following college but Farinacci has really impressed me. Other than the covid casualties (Beecher, Bordealeau) Farinacci was an unknown to me and he's delivered. Starman sure loves him that third line of Berard, Farinacci and Brink. frick yeah 2-0!

Another article from my wonderful state about a highly touted program gone wrong
UHIP was a disaster
Almost everything our governor has done has been awful. I don't blame her directly for the fiasco with the checks, but you always blame the person at the top, so....

re: Rhode Island Governor moves to change state's name due to racism

She's an embarrassment to us. There's been a lot of backlash against her during her second term but that's usually the "frick you" phase for governors who aren't eligible to be re-elected.

“I mean, we will, of course, I expect, have hearings on this,” Rep. David Cicilline, a Rhode Island Democrat, told CNN. “There’s a process that the president is expected to follow in granting pardons or granting clemency. We’ll try to bring attention to this issue on behalf of the American people. We will continue to do oversight.”
frick Vasilline. Seriously. Another embarrassment representing my state. Piece of shite ran (at least) half a dozen people out of working for him when he was mayor of Providence because they refused to do favors for his brother, let tax stuff slide and these people would keep their jobs. Don't think he's ever said an honest thing in his life.

Is there a way to listen to it if having missed it? Personally don't do a lot of talk radio, or radio in general but this interests me. But if you link it I'll give a listen.

Gina should've negotiated to bring you and the family back. First time I've noticed someone other than me admit that they live in RI. I do so with regrets.

URI PROFESSOR HATES WHITE PEOPLE
Unfortunately this ran in my local newspaper, so that's direct from what gets printed here. Nothing more than likely a anti-Trump professor who probably hates football and himmself too. What seemed most interesting was the school's wording when asked for comment about it. Interesting, though not surprising. Felt more like a tabloid article, and a guy desperate to make a name for himself.

If Trump wasn't running I'd say go ahead, everybody elect Fragile Joe and suffer the consequences. His handlers are doing a shite job with the guy in the condition he's in, there's something definitely wrong yet here we are, people want to vote in the male version of RBG, but a little more handsy.

I remember when anti-Trump people flipped out when Sinclair bought a bunch of news networks and promised more varied news coverage. Yet here we are.
re: CBS Morning News: "White gunman kills 49!"

This headline reminds me of one of my local papers, they had a picture of the suspect (he was clearly black) and provided all details but race. But white man bad, always bad I guess.

I emailed the Museum of Bad Art to see if they can get this on display. Didn't realize from the thread misspell, but this is actually Ace Ventura-Jim CarRey or hockey goalie Jim Carey? Confused.
re: Will this "bombing" garbage affect the way you vote?

Fake or real bombs, Trump fanatic or not, don't care. My state democrats in office are shite for brains. Time to do my part to vote them out.
re: Do Democrats Have Solutions?

Our incumbent governor here keeps running this attack ad. Her opponent (a Republican) is a Trump fanboy, he supports the President and what he's doing. That is a really weak strategy to go on. So if he's on board with Trump, and I'm not hearing about what her accomplishments are... does this mean the mentality of a voter comes down to someone is for or against Trump?

Who did that?
Shelley Shithouse. I'd like if people could refer to him as that instead of Whitehouse from now on. I mentioned it before that I'm from RI, the guy is an absolute embarrassment but his smug look today when asking these ridiculous questions makes it even more embarrassing. Welcome to your 2018 Democrats.

My senators are a couple of dildos. It would be more productive just telling them that than anything else.

Embarrassed to share a state with him. Most I know commonly refer to him as Shithouse. Deservedly so.

I remember getting Mark Appel's autograph several years back when he played there. My Truck Robinson autograph is probably more valuable now.
