No way the owners would have Costas do it.

Oh I agree.

I just think it's funny how much people "hate" him now because he made a 2 minute speech about guns on Sunday Night Football.

I bet costas makes less than 5 million ... Probably a lot less.

Jim Rome makes over 20M per year. I'd bet Costas makes over 5.

eta: according to this he makes 5...nice work

lolwut? Costas? Seriously?

I'd love Joe Torre for the game. A former player and manager that has no connection to the ownership. This I'd support.

OK. No Costas, then.

I nominate Keith Olbermann.

Billy Crystal. He can impersonate Phil Rizzuto when giving interviews.

I can't even believe that Costas would be a real candidate. Maybe I don't know enough about Costas but what has he done that would prepare him for running a company of that magnitude? Just because you know a lot about the game and sound good talking about it doesn't mean you have the skills to run the league.

Baseball traditionalism and analytics are not contrary to each other. You can be a traditionalist in terms of the rules of the game(DH/interleague play) and still believe in using analytics to gain any advantage you can.
