I don't think that building a 60k stadium based on one year of success is a very wise move. If you want to see what the stadium will look like in down years, check our Rice's stadium.

Should they expand Cajun field? Probably. But I would wait until they are consistently filling it up to current capacity.

I've heard for years that they've been designing plans for expanding Cajun Field (new upperdeck on visitors side and new field house). Never have I heard about a brand new stadium.

It would be a renovation of Cajun Field, not a brand new stadium/ location

They would be wise to simply upgrade Cajun Field.

Keep in mind the athletic program has real support from the administration for the first time. And the RCAF (our version to the TAF) is growing every year with more and more donors. I know they've only had one good year. But this is a different program than year's past. It will keep growing and this is one of those things that will help attract recruits and new coaches (assuming we lose Hud).

Edit: This is the first article that's mentioned a New Stadium. I'm not expecting that. All the talk I've heard had to do with major renovations

I'm really glad that Louisiana is investing in their football program. They could be a really good program.

It would be awesome to see a Louisiana vs. Louisiana State matchup soon, perhaps on a neutral field.

Renovating and building a new stadium is completely different.

I think he just spoke wrong. I'd be shocked if they decided to build a whole new stadium. Everyone is expecting a renovation.

Would be a very foolish move. Minor upgrades are all that's prob needed.

I think they should refurbish seats and exterior of Cajun Field. As far as Student side maybe expand it and reprint it. I think they also should make it more known how the playing surface is below sea level to attempt to add a "mystique" to the place.

Who's going to pay for this? Do they really think private funding can pull this off?

Yes.

They'll pay for a lot of this with suite sales and shite. The suites will sell out very quickly. It's going to an upgrade to the current stadium.
