What’s bullshite about it? Shouldn’t the playoff be straight 1-11 and then the G5 team?
Also asking for special consideration because of a situation that’s of your own doing and you can fix at any moment is also bullshite. If you don’t want to be in a conference do enough in the regular season to prove you belong or shut up.

So if ND was an actual conference member, they play in the conference championship game and likely make the playoff if they win it.
They just want a cake walk to the playoff annually and it is obvious.

Pretty crazy we started a post at exactly the same time starting with “Oh no” what are the odds of that?

1) It’s irrelevant. The committee would manipulate the rankings to move ND to 13 if they had ND at 11 or 12 and the #10 team would be knocked out.
86 of the last 88 ranked teams that lost CCGs (including BYU, OSU, North Texas and UVA this year) moved down in the rankings. The only exceptions are TCU in 2022 (who lost by 3 in OT) and 2025 Alabama, who lost 28-7. I also firmly believe if UVA won they would’ve kept ND in ahead of Miami (and ranked ahead of Bama, to provide an ND-Miami buffer), but that option got taken out the window when the ACC was about to be shut out.
Point being: the committee will manipulate positioning as they see fit, to accomplish the results they want. Everybody’s whining about this MOU news for nothing.
2) People seem a lot more outraged about #11/12 potentially pushing out #10 (which won’t happen, see my #1 above) than they do about #20 and #25 pushing out #11/12.

I remember early season when all is us posters where saying to watch how ND will keep getting over ranked as season went on. And then as they beat nobodies sure enough their ranking increased by way more than should have.
Fast forward and their fans had no clue as to their over ranking. So then they were listed in the playoffs and their entitled fans were ecstatic.
And then the final rankings did a rug pull and here we are.
They should never have been tanked as high all season long. Week after week. The rankers have no clue they hire some GA to rank for them. The whole ranking systems are flawed from the get go. Just like tx being ranked 1 and Archie being pimped as Heisman fave.
I feel no sorrow for ND. In fact I wish the NCAA came out and said if a team skips a bowl game they are not eligible for any bowls for next 4 years. That would hurt their recruiting and suddenly we’d see all these teams going to their bowl.

They want the ACC love without the benefit of BEING in the conference.
frick off.
frick off.

We just need one year where none of the Big Conferences schedule ND. Let them play Louisiana Tech, Utah State, FIU, etc for a season and see if they change their tune.

Good luck with this Holy War, Domers
ND has already won. They're guaranteed a playoff spot next year barring a complete collapse.

frick off Domers.
You are NOT in the conference for football.
The CFP is for FOOTBALL.
The conference would be committing malpractice if they didnt try to get a MEMBER SCHOOL into the CFP.
Sorry if that is too logical.

Starting next year, they're getting that special consideration. If they're ranked in the final top 12, they are in the playoff.
Which is bullshite, especially after they rage quit like a 12-year old throwing down his PlayStation controller and stomping out of the room.

Zero sympathy for Notre Dame
They're whining that they were ranked higher, then dropped without playing a game...
We were all pissed when they were still ranked at 0-2, and creampuff city the rest of the way. I'm actually shocked they didn't get handed a bid. But good for the committee.
I can only imagine how that went behind closed doors...
"Ok, looks like we are basically set. Indiana, Ohio State and Oregon from the Big 10. Texas Tech from the Big 12. Looks like we have to take both Tulane and James Madison, because of the ACC. Really, Duke is what you had? For shame.
SEC, ok, you get Georgia, Ole Miss, A&M all with one loss. I guess Oklahoma at 10-2 is better than anyone else, they're in. Beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa, that has to be worth something.
So the final 2, we have 3 teams that could be in in. Let's see, about Alabama-"
SEC folks: WHAT, motherfricker?
refuses to make eye contact"-- right. They get a rematch with Oklahoma."
"so, we have Notre Dame or Miami-"
ACC folks : Miami won head to head.
"yeah, but-"
ACC folks :look man, the SEC is already calling half of our schools. Throw us a fricking bone. Miami beat them straight up.
sigh "Ok, Miami it is. But they're gonna bitch"
everyone in the room: They'll bitch on NBC, nobody will even see that.

This may be their pivot to get into the Big Ten. They are a great fit for that conference.
