I had only been thinking about the effect on the men's side, but holy shite are some bad teams going to be added on the women's side. Their tournament should probably still be at 48.
LSU was a 2 seed and won their first two games by 50+ points.
Who is asking for this?

They are because they want to squeeze even more money. The women's tourney now being like 30 teams too big isn't a concern.

Makes the NIT even worse

They will not stop until College Sports is completely destroyed

Agree.
This will add teams that weren't even bubble teams, and didn't make the NIT Final Four. I can't think of a team in that category I wish I could have seen more of.
64 was perfect because it started on Thursday and you didn't have to have the early play in games.

It's basically all midmajors now anyway and most of these new tourney teams will be garbage power conference teams.

The SEC will now get all 16 teams in. No more crying from Auburn.

fricking dumb. Especially the women.

They may seem terrible but they still probably have more talent than any mid major with NIL these days

Should still be 64
—Should go back to 32

Might as well let 6-6 Weedeater bowl teams into the CFB playoff while we're at it. I am so over this expansion shite. 64 in basketball, 4 in football. Leave it alone.

Why is more games bad?
It’s not, people just get emotional about everything these days. I blame the estrogenic effects of alcohol, it’s slowly turning men into women. Bunch of whiny bitches everywhere you look.

Yeah
This is nothing to bitch about
Just more play ins
More fun, why not?

Officially the “stay off my lawn” guy now. Nil now has created 20 teams being untouchable so why do I care if 2 sun belts get in.

And this tournament increase is not going to benefit mid majors. It's going to be more mediocre high major teams added to pad payouts to power conferences. It will get to the point where we will see teams with fired coaches making the tournament because they're scraping the barrel to fill the bracket.
yep, its pathetic.

Absolutely ridiculous. Why stop there, then? Let's allow all division 1 teams in the tournament and just get rid of the regular season. The entire season will be the tournament, and we'll allow double elimination, and stupid play in bubbles to get back in after you've already been eliminated. It's hard to even make these jokes without it feeling like an almost inevitable reality.
Sports just keep getting dumber.
