Couple of things.

1. Carlisle wants to be the hardass coach and have his team leaders do the same. That worked really well and led to a title when you had a bunch of older vets and a very business like superstar in Dirk. That doesn't work well when your franchise is built on a 19-22 year old phenom as Luka was when Rick was coaching him. Throw Porzingis into the mix, who believes he's still the best player on the court at all times and gets pouty when he's not the focus, and you have a team makeup that doesn't fit the coach's style. I'm not going to shite on Carlisle as I'm very happy with what he did for Dallas, but it was in no way a match with this team/Luka.

2. Kidd is a relationship coach that gets the buy-in on a personal level first before he starts pushing so hard on the X's and O's. If you go back to the beginning of the season, the whole team stressed playing for one another first and sacrificing for each other. To ultimately get the team to that level, it meant dumping KP. The second he was gone you could see the team chemistry become one of the best in the NBA. Watching the Mavs bench in big games is one of the best things about the broadcast. You can see the camaraderie and the desire to see their teammates in the game make plays, and that's from Luka all the way down to the last guy on the bench. Now that everyone is bought in and having a great time playing with one another, you can really get into pushing deeper X's and O's, defensive rotations, gameplan stuff instead of worrying about if Player A is going to wide open Player B or if Player C is going to jog back down the court because they didn't get the ball.

Tons of props for Cuban to can vulgaris and Rick and bring in Harrison and Kidd. The % of the talking heads who approved of the Kidd hiring was about 20% at best.

They’re making first take watchable with JJ and Pat Bev on there.

Granted, Pat Bev’s takes are WILD.

They 100% deserve to be destroyed

I have no dog in this fight and find myself thinking back to the sports history I know to collapses like this.

Obviously 28-3 is the end all be all (Boston-NY for series format), but when you consider the series format and the regular seasons/postseason from the past two years this loss makes zero sense and is hilarious. It's moreso the way it happened.

I agree however the Wolves weren’t the 1 seed, down 57-27 at half, at home in Game 7. Context matters here. Just for a second take off your CP3 tinted glasses. The guy played like shite.

I don’t even like Beverly (hes had a history mocking Dame/Portland) but he’s right here. Who cares if he’s a worse player than CP3, doesn’t make the Suns’ game 7 performance any less embarrassing.
