Steep price for the Lakers to pay.

very steep. that move will only be done if they have a wink wink agreement with lebron. would leave the team with a starting group that would look like

george
kawhi
lebron
randle
and lopez? maybe hart

thats a starting five

Two superstars joining together is a super team, unless one of those players is Harden. Because, Harden doesn't count as a superstar due to his playoff performance.

It’s more about the overall attitude then the minutiae of it.

Nah you just throw a ton of negative shite about the spurs against the wall and once in a blue moon it sticks.

They all say this bs in the beginning because it’s the politically correct thing to say.

Just saw ESPN update about Howard being traded once again. This will be his 4th team in 4 years. Is he seriously that toxic that absolutely no team wants to do with him. He has fallen quite hard since the Orlando days.

Popovich has some Belichick in him. In football it works. In Basketball you need talent.

Tim Duncan, Parker, and Ginobli are the either retired or aging team leaders. We are now seeing Aldridge as the team leader. This is why Portland did not suffer when he left.

The Lakers can afford to wait. I would move Deng and pick 25 right now to any team wanting an extra first.

Then you can sign Lebron, George, and resign Randle or make a run at Cousins

Ball or Ingram
George
Ingram or Kuzma
James
Randle or Cousins (Sign and trade might send Zubac and Hart to New Orleans along with a very big trade exception - big enough to go after a very good small forward)

With Hart, Zubac, and two ring chasing veterans is much better than the years Cleveland team and is a solid 3 or 4 seed in the West.

At trade deadline the Lakers can package Randle, Ball, and a few firsts for Leonard or Randle straight up for Butler if he has not signed an extension with Minnesota. Either way if the Lakers are patient they can have a great team next year.

Nope. I’ve always been a big pop fan. Was a Dennis fan back when he was there. Always pulled for horry and Mario Elie.

Oh I agree. It scares me a lot and reminds me off the Nash trade tbh. I’m just saying that’s the type of offer the Lakers can put together and basically trump anyone else’s. Unless Ainge decides to get ballsy and offers Brown/Rozier/Kings pick which obviously LA can’t beat.

Wanting to do something is one thing. Actually having the ability to do it is another.

That works with both sides of what he said. It's a lot easier to say what you would do when it's not even an option.

They actually don't have extra cap space after this deal, they are still over the cap. They just aren't as close to the tax as they were before the deal.

It was an awful deal for them

ETA: I guess they could now use the MLE if they wanted. But who wants to go to the dumpster?
