you know, it may not be a bad idea for the Lakers to go after Cousins via sign and trade this year, then getting Kawhi in the offseason next year....
would be a lot cheaper, in terms of what they'd have to give up for Cousins vs. Kawhi, and they'd still end up with the one of the best C's in the league, the best player in the league, and then one of the best two way players in the league next season... and they could keep more of their young talent, rather than having to give up a lot more of it...

Pretty sure they would have to include Deng to do this. Not sure why New Orleans would do it unless they’re getting serious assets back

obviously.... but they'd probably only get one of the 3 guys that the Lakers are possibly gonna have to give up to get Kawhi... of course they'd still want the future 1st's...
i feel Ingram and maybe a 1st or two would be all it would take, honestly... don't forget Cousins is coming off the injury, which is gonna decrease his contract and trade value....

He made his own bed. LBJ can GFH. Should have gone to PHI if he wanted to stay in the finals. Now he has to babysit a dude who can't shoot and two pieces that may not even be there by mid-season or next summer.
