Any updates on Durant's recovery. If the NBA does resume play in July/August, that would havr been about 13 months since the injury happened. Any chances he gives it a go for the postseason.

I feel like i already know the answer, Im just intrigued to see if anybody thinks he will be good enough to make a return by then.

The Nets have already come out and said he won't return at all this season, even with the delay

Most casual fans really get into the nba during the playoffs I can get why something like that is being batted around. Some basketball, especially the best in the league certainly better than none.

As a Warriors fan with nothing to gain this season, I feel the fans deserve Lakers vs. Pelicans

And I want to stress this isnt a new take of mine. Ive wanted the NBA to cut down on its playoffs for years. Its wild that we get Monday to Thursday breaks and the first round shouldn't be best of 7

Adam will do whatever he can to get Zion Into the playoffs. Whether the governors will allow it is another story altogether.

Yeah when National guys like Russillo and Simmons are jokingly serious about the NBA wanting Zion in, it’s a bigger story than most of the MSB wants to believe.

I am however dumbfounded at the first non-Pels poster willing to admit it on here.

I really don't ever see this happening. A guaranteed loss of 16 playoff games? Packed houses, merchandise sales just thrown away?

I know

If anything they are going to use this as an excuse to make an increased playoff permanent. I just think its ridiculously long to begin with and that's when everything is perfect. Now we are starting the playoffs in the last week of July and hoping to get the next year up and running by Christmas

The first round is usually except for a spicy 4/5 or 3/6 type matchup in the west once in a while.

I've long held it needs to be cut down to the best 12 teams in the entire league where the top 4 get a bye and the other 8 get a beat of 5 and we reseed after every round

MLB split the season into halves and gave berths to the leaders in each half. Problem is that a team with one of the best overall records (Reds?) was left out because they were consistently good but weren’t leading in either half.

Reds had the best record in baseball and didn't make the playoffs. The Cardinals has the 2nd best record in the NL and didn't make the playoffs.

I am ok with them shutting it down and starting everything off right and fresh for next season at the regular time.

If they are going to play though I would say they should try some things that are totally different to see how they work.

the guaranteed loss is just 8 games and some of them still have crappy attendance. 4 of them probably will involve title contenders who are still 99.9% to win their series in round 1 leading 3-0 so no drama there

The best teams in the league don’t want to shut down for a week and a half while other teams play, this isn’t football.

when you sweep your series and the one you’re facing the next round goes 7 that’s what happens
