If the Clippers cannot successfully reduce the penalties imposed, they will have surrendered 10 first-round picks, two first-round pick swaps and two-time MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to acquire Kawhi Leonard in the summer of 2019 while simultaneously acquiring Paul George.

Neat looking back. KD left. Russ said frick it, I’m extending. Russ drags ragtag players to playoffs. This entices PG to take a chance in OKC with Russ. Eventually Presti turns PG into a record haul.
I thank both Russ and PG. If Russ had left after KD this never happens (he deserves a statue). And of course Presti maximizing a rebuild when KD left. Simply amazing when you look back at how it all unfolded.
Imagine being drafted by Clippers or in a team that trades you to Clippers knowing you will be unable ti contend without those future picks they lost. Will be lots of players refusing to go. Clippers will become a dumping ground to reduce salary for future post penalty picks. They will have to stockpile them for 2034.
