It would be in poor taste for the Astros to force him to throw tomorrow and risk further injury. The right thing to do is wrap this up tonight and send Mr. Scherzer home to get completely healthy.

Wonder how we use relievers tonight depending on the score. If we are down like 3-2 in the 7th, do we use our best arms and potentially get less out of them tomorrow, or use our slightly less good arms in hopes they hold the fort and win it late

If it's a one-run game, you do whatever it takes to keep it there and give the bats a chance to punish that bullpen.

Errybody had the day off yesterday. Relief pitchers can easily pitch two days in a row. If the game's even remotely close, you pitch your best because they can all come back tomorrow.

But you’re inferring Martinez knew Cole would win Game 5 and that he sat Scherzer to line him up for Game 7, Sherlock. Why assume a Cole victory in Game 5 when he lost Game 1?
