What in his answer could've possibly led you to this stupid arse conclusion?

This

quote:

Unity, bring everybody together and enjoy a sporting event and cheer on your favorite driver, not be shy and introverted because they see a Confederate flag flying. They should be able to live life to the fullest with nothing holding them back. “And if the flag is holding them back, then let’s just take it down for the sporting event.

NFL players disrespect the flag by kneeling. The flag represents America - the UNITED States of America.

It’s a double standard. Ok for some to disrespect a flag they choose and dictate to others that their flag is not ok. I am not promoting the Confederate flag, just supporting the American flag.

Read the bold line. He never talked about the American flag, only the confederate flag. Quit fabricating reasons to piss yourself off.

Wallace never said anything about the American flag.

Also, one flag is the official flag of our nation. The other is the battle flag of a failed rebellion 160 years ago. One is proudly displayed with the anthem played, and 3 NFL players kneeled during that last year. The other got banned from NASCAR.

I don't see how one impacts the other at all, let alone creates a double standard.

Sounds like kaepernick.

Besides, I thought they were only banning the flag in official capacities, so fans can still have them.

Outside of Indianapolis, the non NASCAR owned tracks don’t have a lot of leverage (beyond their enforcing their current contract).

That’s what I assumed. Bc I mean is there any other source of revenue for those venues that even come close to what NASCAR gets them? I highly doubt it

I mean it’s not like he’s lying, I’m not for participation trophies but the argument the BLM people make that the American flag means different things depending on the person well the same principle applies to the Confederate flag if you want to be logically consistent and that’s ultimately what it’s all about in the analysis. Going political is never good for business or any profession except politics of course.

This has to be satire.

He writes exactly how you’d expect a NASCAR Truck Series driver to write.

Im sure this has been pointed out but this dumbfrick not getting the irony of being offended by people kneeling during the anthem while also being offended that NASCAR banned the battle flag of a group of traitors to his beloved country is just *chef’s kiss*

NASCAR driver quits after NASCAR bans the confederate flag from tracks.

What more is there to discuss? How awful he was as a driver and how this is the most media attention he's gotten in his entire career?

Some of the baws in this thread are trying so hard to give this dipshit credit or a medal. This ain't it and he deserves nothing.

There were other topics in the thread being discussed, which were prompted by the original topic. It's the way conversation evolve.

I've never even heard of him, so I don't care.

Someone said it best: Trump is the second president of the confederacy. Which makes sense because he’s a traitor too.

The irony of someone thinking that kneeling during the anthem is too disrespectful to our nation but also thinks that flying the flag of a different nation that literally fought a war against America is perfectly fine is just too much for me.
