A North Carolina MLB team sounds like an attendance failure. Look to Portland, Vegas, or Nashville instead

2.5 million people around Raleigh and one of the fastest growing cities in the US. You would get so many of the Yankees that moved down here going to the games.

Who would have thought the Carolina Hurricanes would be one of the most attended in the NHL but they consistently are in the top 10.

Potentially but it depends heavily on the division they would end up in

It's also firmly Braves country

More likely to be Tampa Bay with less local support

Put another AL team in the pacific time zone so the Astros can move back to a central division.

I'd like to see four 8 team divisions.

Either East/West, or Original 8/expansion.

I wonder if they embrace both Carolinas like the Panthers and the Hurricanes did? Rather than the city name.

You’re clueless.

They just had over 100k show up in downtown Raleigh for the Hurricanes Stanley Cup parade this morning. They sold out the Lenovo center for the game 6 watch party the morning after game 5.

Also have one of the most popular minor league organizations in the country with the Durham Bulls, have the team USA complex next to the airport in Cary, and routinely put 5-6 college teams in the NCAA tournament each year.

It was comical how shitty the atmosphere was in Vegas for the Stanley Cup final compared to Carolina

First, the Lakers moved from Minnesota to Los Angeles, where there are no lakes.

Then the Oilers moved from Houston to Tennessee, where is no oil.

Then the Jazz moved from New Orleans to Utah, where they don’t allow music.

Yeah…but there are Florida panthers

And tell someone from eastern NC that there aren’t Hurricanes in North Carolina

I actually like that. What’s weird though is all MLB teams have a plural name that ends in “s” (dodgers, Yankees, Astros, Braves, etc)
or “x” (Red Sox)

Would be different having a non-plural team name like (jazz, avalanche, kraken, mammoth or flight).
