This board seems to think Braves country covers about 8 states in the Southeast. The Braves cashed in on TBS for a generation that couldn’t watch whatever game they wanted. It was the same model as WGN. That era is over. You can watch whoever, whenever. If you add a team in North Carolina, they will be fans from day 1. The same as if you added a team in Nashville, or Portland, or even Austin. There’s enough people to go around.

Carolina used to be Falcons country until the Panthers came along. An MLB team in RDC would do quite well. I would go when the Yankees are in town. The MLB baseball team, not people who live in Cary.
Plop a stadium down over by the Lenovo Center and Carter-Finley, expand that sports complex footprint. South Raleigh is another spot being considered for a stadium.

My point still stands. Once the Panthers came into existence, that changed quickly. MLB in Raleigh will be an immediate success.

It seems pretty unlikely Raleigh will get a team with Nashville being a lock and a couple markets out west (SLC, Portland) pushing hard for one as well
