My Dad would be my answer to this. Walked on at UL (SLI back then) and earned a scholly as a kicker and lineman, signed with the Cowboys in the early 60’s but was only a back up to their all pro guy. Had some awesome stories... most from the preseason... he kicked off to Jim Brown, went against Rosie Greer, got a knock down on Johnny U.

A few years ago, I found a box with some stuff his mom had collected. A letter from Vince Lombardi telling him he was a preferred Draft Prospect of the Packers and a letter from Tom Landry welcoming him to training camp, a letter from Tom Fears inviting him to try it for the Saints in 67. All are framed in my office.

Dad passed away in May. Miss him more every day.

That's far from doing nothing man

Then of course Jerrod Johnson. Probably the most hyped A&M QB before Manziel

Keith Poole, old Saints WR.

He was like the only white receiver back in the day, and he was always good to catch a bomb or get layed the frick out every other game or so.

Wasn’t Murray hyped huge when they signed him? I seem to remember the big deal Jackie made about him.

Nah I was a December grad. My last semester at A&M was my little brother's first, which was pretty cool.

Of course I couldn't be normal

Anna was the first to come to my mind. She sure looked pretty nice accomplishing mediocrity though.
