Worth it for rams, Jared verse is really good and he can potentially will be dpoy caliber, but Garrett with that line is absurd

Makes it even weirder they drafted Ty Simpson when all other indications are that they are pushing all their chips in this season.

One could also say that if the Rams think they have their QB post-Stafford then that gives them the flexibility to move picks and not have to hold onto them for better draft position next year.

One would have to assume the rams picks will be near the end of each round barring a collapse so it’s a solid deal for them…I mean didn’t the jets get two first rounders for Sauce and Cowboys got two firsts for Parsons

They did but the browns are getting Verse. A young, cheap, all pro caliber edge guy who should still be in his prime if the browns get their qb right.
I mean that won’t happen but that’s gotta be the thought process.

How can L.A. continue to trade for players like this?

Which makes the Simpson pick even more weird. Why not draft someone who could help you win right now

Verse is probably worth a 1st and day 2 pick in a trade.

But the Packers still had to pay him, the Browns are taking $40+ million cap hit not the Rams, for Garrett.

This is an understated angle

It’s also not like every first round rookie makes a huge impact right away. Getting the guy you think is your QB of the future isn’t mutually exclusive with being aggressive for a title run

And as much as I hate the fricks and their shite title, Snead/McVay are 1/1 going “all-in”

A+ for the Browns. Not sure about the Rams

This is why the Simpson pick was so stupid.

Not really. Simpson needs to sit and learn as it is for at least a year if not two due to only having 15 starts in college and there are few better to learn from than Stafford.

Rams are all in on a two year window with Stafford

Agreed here. They are playing the short and long game(drafting Simpson).

This is a terrible trade for the rams imo. Verse is 25 with tons of upside and garrett just turned 30. On top that you gave away a first?

Garrett is way better than Verse and Garrett’s on a very cheap contract.

Rams are only obligated to pay Garrett:

2026- 8 mil
2027- 16 mil
2028- Garret can be cut with no dead money,

Rams werent gonna extend Verse anyway given other guys that need extensions plus Stafford/McDuffie making big cap numbers.

This trade is basically Verse/1st/2nd/3rd for 2 years of elite Myles Garrett production,

For a team like the Rams that has at best a 2 year window left with Stafford approaching 40 you build the best team you can for 26/27. After that McVay/Stafford probably gone anyway

I think it is an amazing move for them. The guy is 30 and they’re a long way away.

He has 5 years left and 98 million on it last time I checked

That would be wild work by the Browns in contract negotiations if your numbers are accurate
