Lin was my first thought.

Lincecum was pretty good for a while.

He fell off hard but I wouldn’t say someone with close to 300 HR’s a flash in the pan.
His horrible contract allowed him to continue playing when he absolutely had no right to be in the mlb. He had a 0 or below WAR for 9 of 13 seasons

Having a quick 4-5 year peak in your late 20s/early 30s as a power driven 1B/DH is pretty common, but his peak was much higher than is normal for that kind of player. And he received a lot of extra attention for the horrible contract. It’s all semantics

Celtics Isaiah Thomas is probably too good to qualify for this for most people but he had one of the strangest career arcs ever to me

People tend to forget that MLB banned Adderall the year Chris Davis went 0-54 and he was severely ADHD. That changed the trajectory of his career entirely

Brady Anderson, Baltimore. Had over 50 HRs in a season and didn’t snuff that again. 24 was next highest. He played in the majors a little while though.

Dusty Baker ruined not just Prior but also Kerry Wood in the same season. They both had Hall of Fame talent and stuff.

Lincecum played for a decade and won 3 Cy Youngs. That is not a flash in the pan.

Lincecum’s body just gave out. He wasn’t a big guy, but a slight build. He was elite for those few years. Calling him a flash in the pan is dumb. I don’t think OP knows the definition.
