He actually killed 2 people with the first being deemed justifiable due to him being robbed by the guy and King shot him dead. The second guy he killed was over a debt owed to King and even though he claimed he was attacked, witnesses came forth and said otherwise and he was jailed for that.
A prime example of the scumbag he was as a promoter was when one of his fighters fought, and lost and King got into the ring with his fighter for just a few seconds. Then he walked across the ring to the opponents corner and started schmoozing the guy and trying to get him to switch camps and join him as a manager and promoter.
King was in it only for the money he could make off his fighters and finally got Tyson as his proverbial cash cow. Everybody in the fight business knows how dealing with King will eventually wind up-------him with the brunt of the money and the fighter tossed aside when they can't get big fights.
