Vince Velasquez went 6 2/3 before giving up his first hit. Dude can be lights out when he's throwing strikes, which isn't all that often.

Longo left the game after getting hit on his left hand

Wow. I traded him in my fantasy league last week for Walker Buehler -- since then, Buehler has gone on the DL and Sano sent down to the minors

That's pretty harsh for a guy who was an All-Star last year.

Yeah, I saw his numbers. Is there any reported friction between him and teammates/management?

Didn't he show up a little overweight?

Gary Sanchez needs to follow in Sano’s footsteps. Dude is an embarrassment right now.

.075/.197/.094 since May 22. To go with his terrible defense.

German always seems to start ugly but get stronger as the game goes on. 6 innings 10 strikeouts 5 hits 2 walks on only 91 pitches

One more note on the 26 whiffs Domingo German induced tonight. Just got this from @ESPNStatsInfo. MLB starters with the most whiffs in a single game this season: James Paxton 31 Max Scherzer 29 Jacob deGrom 27 Chris Sale 26 Aaron Nola 26 Domingo German 26

He has some electric stuff. K/9 over 10 in his small sample size in the majors. But I’m always a bit skeptical of guys that take as long as he did to reach the majors.

The crew on FS1 MLB Whiparound saying the Braves should go for it this year because there isn't a dominant team in the NL. I don't want them to gut the farm for rentals, but you never know when you get a shot at it. There are a lot of people on this board who are smarter than me about this stuff. Thoughts?

The Braves are one year ahead in the rebuild process. How great everything looks now and how the Braves are beating the expectations....patience is still key. No need to risk trading top prospects away for rentals.

I sort of feel the same way. I'd be just fine with making a minor trade for another bullpen arm though

And the idea that there are no dominant teams in the league is a little out there imo. Dodgers are revving the frick up and the cubs will be difficult to beat in the playoffs
