And the idea that there are no dominant teams in the league is a little out there imo. Dodgers are revving the frick up and the cubs will be difficult to beat in the playoffs

Not my words. The guys on FS1 said it. I don't believe the Braves should be considered the favorites by any means, but I'm starting to think they'll be contending for the long haul this season

I think they will make the playoffs. But I just hate the concept about going in on one year

I do too. The Andrus/Saltalamacchia for Teixeira rental trade will always haunt me.

I'm curious how the kids keep it up or will there be a second half swoon. We've seen young teams play great for a half a season before or will this team make it like the twins last year

The crew on FS1 MLB Whiparound saying the Braves should go for it this year because there isn't a dominant team in the NL. I don't want them to gut the farm for rentals, but you never know when you get a shot at it. There are a lot of people on this board who are smarter than me about this stuff. Thoughts?

I don't think that they should "go for it" as in trade the farm for a Machado or something like that. You're one year ahead of schedule, which is a good thing. Use this year to go as far as you can, get some good playoff/contending experience for the young bucks.

If anything, I think they could add another bullpen arm but I wouldn't do anything more than that. They need to call up Riley sometime after the ASB to see what they're going to have at 3B moving forward and adjust accordingly next year.

Do like the Yankees did last year, they went for in getting Gray but it didn't cost them too much and they got a young controllable asset (well not this year)

Yep. There’s ways to go about it to open your window more rather than going in on one year. I mean the braves have what 13 players on fangraphs top prospects? No reason to not turn a few into a controllable upper level arm.

Rumor is that the Pirates will make Ivan Nova and Cervelli available via trade. Cervelli is a player that would huge for the Nationals, Astros, Red Sox

Yankees GM Brian Cashman was just asked about whether he'd listen to trade scenarios that include players in exchange for Gleyber Torres. His response? "No. Come on now. I've got to walk around this city."

Today in 1974, Nolan Ryan throws 235 pitches while walking 10 batters and striking out 19 over 13 innings. He was immediately scheduled for season-ending elbow surgery. Just kidding, he made his next start on three days rest and won.

Holy shite, 235 pitches in 1 game.

And with all the talk of baseball attendance being down, the Dodgers once again get 55k out to the ball park

Missed a full year in 2015 to Tommy John. Made debut at 24. Not that far off

If Dodgers win the World Series without Kershaw and Seager then Roberts deserves coach of the year at least 3 straight years

Think I paid 89.99 at the start of the year, 49.99 is a great deal as well though. Next year I may wait till Fathers day or midseason to purchase.
