Trent Giambrone #Cubs Leads @smokiesbaseball with 16 Homeruns, 22 Stolen bases and second with 19 Doubles. Pulled in the 3rd inning and didn’t appear to be injury related. Ranked as the 30th best prospect LINK prospect list. Hugs reported in the dugout

Giambrone grew up in Metairie with Lester Earl.

The Atlanta #Braves acquire reliever Brad Brach from the #Orioles to lengthen their bullpen in exchange for an international signing slot

I expected something more than this but at least Baltimore is finally getting into the international signing like the rest of MLB. I might be wrong, but I think they were the only team in the league that didn't take part in international signings.

are there any Jays fans following this thread? What would Toronto be seeking in exchange for a combo of Osuna and Donaldson? Are the Jays trying to distance themselves from Osuna's character issues and willing to dump him for anything? Is he a true jackass that needs to be avoided at all costs?

asking for a friend who is a big Braves fan and wants them to upgrade the bullpen and 3B...

The Yankees have utilized some of their newly found international funds (acquired in trades with the Cardinals and with the White Sox) to sign Cuban right-hander Osiel Rodriguez, as Jorge Ebro of El Nuevo Herald tweets. Rodriguez, the No. 5 international prospect on Baseball America’s rankings and No. 9 on MLB.com’s list, received a $600K signing bonus.

the Yankees are also expected to add a young shortstop by the name of Carlos Verdecia for another $325K.

The Mets aren’t moving Zach Wheeler and Chris Archer talk has slowed down this morning. It feels like most moves will be bullpen arms the next 24 hours.

That would effectively take them out of the Victor Victor Mesa sweepstakes which is great news for the Orioles and Marlins.

Yankees had 7.5 million in international money prior to that deal that has been announced and the one mentioned.

I understand Givens is controlled and he is young but he hasn't been all that great this season. I've heard rumors that teams have showed a lot of interest in him and the O's prob. could get a good/decent return if they would include him with Gausman or Bundy. I just have a feeling that neither will be moved and could be shopped around in the off season or before next year's deadline.

Also on the O's front. Adam Jones will likely finish the year in Baltimore (mainly because he can veto any trade). Schoop's name hasn't been mentioned much over the last few days. He hasn't had the greatest season but has really turned the corner in the month of July. This month he is hitting..... .360/.356/.700 with 9 HRs and 19 RBIs. I don't know if this has helped his value much but his name hasn't been mentioned in the rumor mill lately. He might finish the season with the O's this year but I don't see him being with them by this time next year.

I don't understand that. He reportedly nixed a deal to the Phillies because he didn't want to be away from family and friends...

It's 2-3 months and Philly is less than 2 hours from Baltimore. But he'd rather play out his contract on a historically bad team than be a couple hours away for a few months and go to the playoffs? Odd.

Yeah...he is very involved with the Baltimore community. I guess he wants to go to another team on his own terms instead of just getting traded to another team. I agree with you...its odd but I can understand his reasons.
