and hes lost a lot of trade value
He's been very solid since his rough start to the season in March and April. He has a 2.98 ERA and 1.26 WHIP in his last ten starts. Plus his peripherals are very good (3.50 FIP and 3.65 SIERA, a very high .347 BABIP which has skewed his numbers). Also, he's cheap and under team for the next 3.5 years. I feel like he still has plenty of trade value.

He does

Archer has three straight seasons with his ERA above 4. I would love the Braves to offer Riley and Gohara for Archer right now. I doubt the Rays would take it but it’s worth a shot. I believe Archer just needs a change of scenery and would be a top 5 pitcher in the NL.

Another team now needing a starting pitcher , Brewers starting pitcher Brent Suter out for season with torn UCL, pitched more innings than any pitcher on their team. They'll likely now have to make a move at the deadline for a starter to close out the season. They brought up a AAA pitcher.

The list of teams being linked to Zach Britton continues to grow, with Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic tweeting this morning that the Diamondbacks are also showing interest in the lefty. The D-backs join the likes of the Astros, Cubs, Rockies, Brewers, Red Sox and Braves as clubs holding some level of interest in acquiring Britton.

The Rockies have been scouting both Gausman and Bundy recently, tweets Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. Colorado has held a “longstanding interest” in Gausman, in particular, Rosenthal adds.

Orioles second baseman Jonathan Schoop and right-handers Kevin Gausman and Dylan Bundy are drawing trade interest, according to Roch Kubatko of MASNsports.com. The Braves have asked the Orioles about all three players, while the Brewers have inquired about Schoop and Gausman, and Kubatko confirms the Yankees’ previously reported interest in Gausman.

Maybe it’s my Lsu homerism but gausman is a prime candidate to have a big break out when he gets away from the shite show in Baltimore

What makes Gausman a breakout candidate? He's a two-pitch pitcher and only one of those pitches is even league average. You can get away with a plus fastball and iffy breaking ball out of the bullpen. You can't get away with it as a starter. Plus he has terrible command. He throws strikes but he constantly makes mistakes in the middle of the plate. He is a better pitcher than what he's shown the last two years but he won't ever be much more than a league average pitcher no matter where he goes.

Baltimore isn’t exactly the best place for a pitcher to develop

He throws his slider a decent amount so not a two pitch pitcher. Plus every single year in the big leagues hes been dramatically better in the second half. Hes shown that he can be a very good pitcher not just for a couple weeks, not just a month but for half a season. True he has never put it all together for a season but I will attribute that to Baltimore until proven otherwise.

He has a slider but it's not a very good slider. It's not reliable and he can't command it all. When you watch him pitch, you quickly realize how predictable he is and how he has no room for error due to his lack of secondary pitches. Also, he had Dave Wallace as his pitching coach for three years so it's not like he never had good instruction. It's only been an issue the last couple years.

Just thought about how much we need the Fiers/Red Sox trade to happen
Think about a game in September between Boston and NYY at Yankee Stadium and Fiers plunks Giancarlo again. Would be mayhem

Yankees have emerged as clear front-runner for #Orioles’ Britton, sources tell The Athletic. NYY scratched RHP Dillon Tate from his start tonight at Double A. As always, no deal is complete until all medicals are approved by both clubs.
