Sad to see Britton turn into one of those washed up great veterans that the Yankees always acquire for nothing at the trade deadline. It was a great run.

From the #4 overall pick to being swapped in a rental for a declining reliever. Rough career spot for Tate

and the past two years he has put up more than solid numbers in the minors. I was hoping to see Sheffield, Adams, and him when rosters are expanded

really do not want the Yankees to trade for Britton

I was on the fence about the Astros trading for him. Potentially an upgrade. But he's not the guy he was a few years ago. He's not striking out many hitters, giving up a lot of hits and walking way too many. That's a dangerous combo.

I mean I don't see where he fits in other than putting Shreve back into the minors/outrighted since I don't know his situation. However, Shreve has been solid for the past month

I would have been okay with the Astros trading for him, but we would have given up a lot of players for 2 months of him and he's nowhere near the pitcher he used to be. It is what it is. I think we still need a bullpen arm from some team though.

Most of the arms after Britton are controllable past this year, they would cost more imo

Tate should be traded for a starter, not Britton

This is a 2000-2010 Yankees move, this move does not reflect the current direction of the club imo. This is a panic move is what I feel

Tate isnt even a top 5 prospect in the Yankees system, and not even close to a top 100 guy in baseball. The Yankees gave up nothing.

Britton isn't going to help anyone, Britton is living off his reputation right now. I have no fricking faith in Britton being that significant an upgrade over Shreve.
Although I like that your go to now is "how drunk are you" very impressive, glad I have a following.

8:01pm: The two sides have reached an agreement on who will be involved in the trade, per Heyman (Twitter links). The agreement is still pending medical reviews. Sherman tweets that Rogers will indeed be in the package if the trade is finalized, as will Triple-A reliever Cody Carroll.

7:50pm: Joel Sherman of the New York Post tweets that Triple-A lefty Josh Rogers could also be a part of talks. The 24-year-old doesn’t rank among the Yankees’ top tier of prospects, but he’s worked to a 3.95 ERA with 6.8 K/9, 2.4 BB/9, 1.07 HR/9 and a 40.1 percent ground-ball rate in 109 innings (19 starts) for the team’s top affiliate in Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre so far in 2018.
