With the Adam Ottavino signing, the Mets' CBT payroll is ~$358 million. With taxes, that number jumps to around $446 million. The Mets could shed some salary via trades, but that number remains staggering.

In other news, the Mets have agreed to extend Bobby Bonilla’s yearly $1.19 M contract until his death

I’m told if he should expire ahead of the original contract date of 2035, it will continue to be paid to his heirs

I saw a tweet saying he failed the physical and is now a free agent again. Is this true?

I haven’t seen anything, but I’d prefer he stay in SF

LA would be awesome to see, but he could win in Atlanta

Giants are a joke

Fans will mutiny. I hope no one shows up on Opening Day. What a shite offseason

The National League is absolutely loaded with talent moving forward. Wonder who will break the bank for Ohtani?

Love an owner willing to spend and take a chance. Much better than one who refuses so they can make money from revenue sharing

I know you do - I think there's a line where it becomes a bit irresponsible - and I think he's crossed it - but we've argued that ad nauseum, no need to go there again. Time will tell the tale.

Dodgers are going to go all out next offseason. There’s a reason they’re doing a bunch of 1 year contracts this offseason.

That's part of it. The other reason is the uncertainty with the Bauer contract.

He’s going to single handedly lead to another work stoppage when this CBA is over. Salary cap will be in play.
