I expect rangers to sign Rodon, but getting deGrom as well would be wild.

Seems the White Sox will not be bringing back Jose Abreu which is shocking. They are looking to add players without adding to the payroll so looking at trades.

Lot's of speculation the Cubs will sign Abreu to a 1-year deal to mentor their up and coming left-handed first baseman Matt Murvis.

Kershaw back to the Dodgers on a one year deal. Padres keep Suarez at 5 years $46M.

No, but getting 15 starts from deGrom helps.

My point is why would he go there if he wants to win. Which he seems like the type of guy that would take a small discount to win over playing for the highest bidder.

Mark Bowman is speculating Dansby will return to the Braves for a lesser price. He thinks 6 years $123M. He's thinking Dansby will have larger offers but will take less to stay home.

Maybe would take a small discount, but he got a late start at age 27 and he hasn't had that big free agent pay day yet.

It's not like he's hurting for money either.

deGrom is not taking a discount, its the whole reason he opted out, he is getting paid.

Right, I'd assume he'd take a few mill/year less to play for a contender. But I don't know much about his situation/psyche.

Dansby is in the unfortunate situation that he is every teams 4th choice and by a grand canyon like gap.

If teams miss on Xander, Turner, Correa then maybe you consider Dansby but only then.

Will be interesting what mo'ron does.

I was told arenado told Cardinals that if they don't spend to prove he will opt out. This mo flying quickly to see him at his house.

Later that day, mo announces team will spend cash this off season

Would love to see walker get a fair shot at lf. Time to deal some of ooutfield surplus and young arms who can't go more than 5 innings. They ain't starters.

Arenado doesn't have any more opt outs.

Walker has a good shot at making the team in spring.

Cards continue to talk trades with the Blue Jays for a catcher. Alejandro Kirk would be a wet dream. More likely Jansen.

Nolan just had one, and told Cardinals he wouldn't opt out, if they improve and team spends to improve.

He took advantage of his last chance to use his opt out, and chose to stay.

Mo didn't fly out to see Nolan because he likes the area. He wanted to assure Nolan team was committed, and he decided to not opt out.
