If the Yankees don't finally dedicate themselves to letting the their young players play then they will become a good but never great team like the Dodgers. Regular season success with early playoff exits.
They may be better off long term letting both players leave.

They might be better letting judge walk and signing Correa.
Getting MarWIN (TYFYS) is one thing.. if they sign Correa fans' heads will explode.

Gonna cost damn near $50M AAV to get him, IMO
And with his recent injury history and age.....that's a bit role of the dice. Only way that pays is you win a WS next year and he's the reason.

DeGrom's going to be 35 and missed more than half of 2021 and 2022. No way in hell I would give him $50M per year unless it was about a $25M base with loads of incentive bonuses. And even then I would want it to be a short deal with options like Bauer and Correa signed recently. Can't commit to 5+ for a guy that's likely to be hurt half the time.

The Yankees are going to lose Judge and Rizzo, they might not even be a playoff team.
Would be hilarious

Rizzo would probably be best served to stay there. I read somewhere that he had more homers than anyone in baseball that only would have been a home run in one park - Yankee Stadium. Not sure how many that was but that short right field porch and as many balls as he pulls down the line - he's not gonna have power numbers near what he can get there anywhere else.

Yeah, but he's looking for a big, maybe final, long term deal. That's something for teams making an offer to consider. Rizzo is looking to make money.

Hey, Rizzo was my favorite Cub on the WS team and one of my favorite Cubs of all time. But I think he found out his market value last year and it was not what he thought. He was insulted by the Cubs offer that ended up being with the years...a better offer than he ended up signing with the Yanks.
He misses 30 games a year with Neck issues and he's not getting any younger. I love the guy but I'm thinking the money ain't gonna be what he's thinking.
banning the shift will help his BA though, he grounded into the shift about as much as anyone in baseball.

Judge is gonna sign with the giants and will end up only making the postseason every 5 years lmao

Where are the Dodgers at with Bauer? Are they done with him?

I do think Bonds and Clemens get in thru the Veterans Committee - just not this year

Do the SS dominos not start falling until somebody signs Turner?
Also, how will ending the shift affect certain players values? I bet clubs have been really studying players’ analytics closely since that decision was announced.

I think he will be blackballed from the league regardless of his legal situation outcome.

I think someone will be desperate enough to give him a 2nd chance.
Braves trade Odorizzi to Rangers. And re acquire Allard. Whom they drafted in the 1st round in 2015.

The shift seem to me to affect left-handed power hitters more than any other. I know as a Cub fan Rizzo's BA went from a steady .285 year in and year out to .240 the last 3 years where everyone started shifting him extremely.
And Schwarber has always been shifted extremely and while the power numbers have always been good, he barely hits over .200 each year.

Seems the White Sox will not be bringing back Jose Abreu which is shocking. They are looking to add players without adding to the payroll so looking at trades.
Vaughn would take over at 1st in this case, would love the Astros to grab Abreu as the Yeli replacement.
