Thats a descent rotation
I don't know any of those names but Ervin and Phil. I guess that's Minnesota for ya.

Really Berrios was a pretty big prospect? Gibson was pretty well respected as well

Yep, never heard of either even once.
If they were NL then probably, but I couldn't tell you the last time I watched any part of a Twins game. The very rare random highlight on SC but never watch SC anymore either.

Santana-10.4 WAR in past 3 1/2 years, 3.28 ERA, 4.46 FIP last year
Berrios-23 yr old, 145 IP, 3.89 ERA/3.84 FIP, 8.59 K/9
Those two are a pretty good top of the rotation. Definitely wild card potential.
Gibson-place holder. need someone better.
Mejia-24 yr old, 98 IP,4.50 ERA/4.65 FIP, 7.81 K/9
Hughes-112 In past two years
Gonsalves-lefty, top 75 prospect
Just upgrade one of those spots, and this rotation looks pretty good. Get a Darvish at the top, and I really like this team, even though they are very young.
The organization also has Fernando Romero, who will be a top 100 prospect this year. Finally blossomed into a starter in 2017. Underrated with his stuff. Could make the leap to Minnesota in 2018.

Hughes last had a good season in 2014, dude is 31 (or 32 now) he hasn't had an ERA under 5 in two years and hasn't been healthy either. He could be a candidate to move back to the bullpen to continue his career. He did thrive in the bullpen for the Yankees

Thats true too
1.Santana
2.Berrios
3.Free Agent
4.Mejia
5.Gibson/Gonsalves
RP.Rodney
RP.Reed
RP.Hughes
RP.Hildenberger
Thats pretty descent.

IMO Twins won't get a major pitcher although I would love to see it....
SP- E. Santana
SP- J. Berrios
SP- J. Garcia
SP- K. Gibson
SP- A. Mejia
I'm thinking they grab Garcia, Cashner, Tillman.... They did pick up Pineda who will be ready by the All-Star break I believe.

I remember a long time ago when Hughes was supposed to be the next Clemens. He and Bailey were going to be ace starters for years to come.

Cole to the Astros official, per ESPN

Who did they give up? McCutchen next?

Hearing Pirates and Astros have a trade. Sources say Musgrove and Moran to Pitt for Gerrit Cole.

I wish Girsch signed Reed for that. Even if he gets Colome, bullpen isn’t upgraded enough.
Posted on 1/13/18 at 5:42 pm to CRDNLSCHMCPSN11
Colin Moran, Joe Musgrove, Michael feliz
Not a bad haul for the Pirates. More depth type of move instead of 1 huge prospect. Those are MLB ready guys all under 25 y/o
Good move for both

I’m surprised Pirates couldn’t get more for him somewhere else.

I don't think Cole is same pitcher he was 2 years ago, his numbers increasing, and that HR per 9, from o.5 to 1.4 is significant. And now he moves to hitters parks and no more puds at 8th spot and pitcher at 9th spot.
He'll win games because of the team, but he's trending down.

He’s only 27. He had one off year. I think he’s better than what he showed last year. Very good trade for Astros.

I can't believe they gave this donkey that kind of money. Thanks again St. Louis !

He’s going to be their closer.
