According to major league sources, the Dodgers floated the possibility to the Red Sox of a swap that would send Jackie Bradley Jr. to Los Angeles while bringing Yasiel Puig to Boston.

Well yeah but him in a front office not being talked about is different than in a uniform on the field kinda.

Why would the Dodgers even entertain that idea

Cubs have an offer on the table for Lorenzo Cain LINK

It will be interesting to see if that puts the wheels in motion for a possible trade.

No links, but i heard something about the Agents and MLBPA, claiming that the reason the free agency period has been stagnant, is that the teams are colluding.

Some teams are staying under cap, some are freeing up money near cap to make big offers next season, and some teams just dont have the needs.

They aren't colluding.

The CBA they agreed to is set up to stifle salaries

Teams are more and more analytical and recognize how shite FA is. They know that aging curves are a bitch. More teams are trying the astros/cubs full teardown model.

I just think teams are being smarter with how they spend money. Look at some of these pitchers who are free agents. They are in their 30's and want 6-7 year deals. Many teams just don't want to take that financial risk regardless if they can afford to or not.

12:27pm: Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports reports (via Twitter) that the Astros have had talks with the Pirates about a trade that would send Cole to Houston. Young outfielder Derek Fisher’s name has come up in negotiations, though Passan notes that the Pirates “almost certainly would need Kyle Tucker or Forrest Whitley” to headline the deal.

#Marlins’ Starlin Castro wants to be traded, sources tell The Athletic. Does not want to be part of another rebuilding process the way he was with the #Cubs.

guy has elite skills, but the elevator only goes to the 2nd floor a majority of the time.

he wasted his talents in chicago, at times it looked like he didn't give a fark.

The Houston #Astros indeed closing in on #Pirates ace Gerritt Cole, as @jonmorosi reports. This could be the deal that finally opens up free-agent starter market.

Assuming this Cole deal gets done will Pirates blow it up (for the 2018 season) and trade Cutch and others for MLB ready or near ready prospects?

Could avoid a full rebuild
