It’s over for Freddie in ATL

So the company who didn't want to trade talent to make the team better in prior seasons will trade talent to replace a key player....

All because they don't want to pay him.

Really stupid move by the braves. The A’s will turn Pacheco and langliers into all stars

I guess it would be hard to be mad as an Atlanta fan right now but man. Resign your cornerstone 1B and use those trade assets elsewhere. Olson is great but just seems like an odd way of team building

How can you say that without knowing what was offered? Everyone close to the situation has said if he wanted to remain a Braves, he would remain a Brave. Meaning they were going to make a legitimate offer. If he took a few million more to go elsewhere, I won't fault AA.

Gives the Braves a lot more flexibility this year and next $$$ wise. Olson also fits in timeline wise much better with Acuña/Albies/Riley/Fried/Anderson/Swanson

I guess it depends on how they use that money. I think Freeman’s game will age very well personally so I don’t see the timeline thing as a huge deal.

I'm still shocked by this movie considering everything Freeman meant

We can’t really judge the Olsen trade until we see the Freeman contract. I think Freeman winning that championship probably felt like he accomplished his goal in Atlanta. Olsen actually had a higher war last year than Freeman.

AA nearly nearly started crying talking to reporters about the deal

Not to mention that Olson is five years younger than Freeman. Just got to hope his 2021 performance is close to the norm. But his breakout timing aligns with the age when players usually break out.
