Shota Imanaga is expected to be posted Monday, allowing him to sign as an MLB free agent. Imanaga, an All-Star for the Yokohama Bay Stars, is the lefty known for his changeup and command who won the championship clinching game for Japan over Team USA in the WBC.

Small clarification: The announcement of his impending posting is Monday. Technically, he’ll be posted after Monday.

There wasn’t a single team that didn’t have at least one executive spending at least 24 hours battling diarrhea, stomach pain, nausea and vomiting.”

Stanton's agent warns UFA's thinking about signing with the Yankees.

quote:

Giancarlo Stanton's agent clapped back at New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman while offering a word of warning to any free agents who are considering joining the Bronx Bombers.

Cashman told New York Daily News last week that the injury-plagued Stanton is "going to wind up getting hurt again more likely than not because it seems to be part of his game.

One day after the Daily News published Cashman's comments, agent Joel Wolfe responded Tuesday in a statement to The Athletic.

One day after the Daily News published Cashman's comments, agent Joel Wolfe responded Tuesday in a statement to The Athletic.

"I read the context of the entire interview," Wolfe said. "I think it's a good reminder for all free agents considering signing in New York both foreign and domestic that to play for that team you've got to be made of Teflon, both mentally and physically because you can never let your guard down even in the offseason."

I know. But he would have been better off not saying that publicly since that is Yamamoto's agent.

No offense to this agent/whoever, but no shite.

playing in NY can propel you to legendary status, or turn you into a head case, if you are a star player.

Everyone gets that. But GM's calling out their own prominent players in the media isn't smart. Stanton had some injuries with the Marlins, so it just makes Cashman look like a bigger fool than he's already been for the past decade. Especially when that same agent represents one of the most coveted free agent pitchers of the offseason.
