I would not be surprised to see Elly DLC get traded to some big market for prospects.
We're not going to trade Elly. Our window is just opening. Why the frick would Krall want to trade him?

Ray Montgomery is a candidate to watch in the Astros managerial search. Houston GM Dana Brown told me today that he’s a big fan of Montgomery, a contemporary of Brown and Jeff Bagwell from Northeast baseball circles in the late 1980s.

At this point he just needs to come out and say, "look, George and my dad were friends. Hal is a pussy, he won't do shite. I'm gonna be here til I retire."

What? Elly was just a prospect 250 at-bats ago.

Why trade for prospects with your most recently successful prospect?

Your post is an example of bad sports talk. It’s bad enough as it is. We don’t need absurdities to make a point. Just say they make bad decisions and we’ll believe you.

It is the truth though. You don't have to rely on analytics to simply go out and acquire high performing free agents.

Can't speak to how they leverage analytics to their day to day work, but from a broad perspective regarding talent acquisition, their pockets are deep enough, that they don't need to bother as they don't need to be financially efficient.

I’d argue they do because the current results suck for what they spend. Maybe that’s your point though and I’m missing it

I wasn't too clear about it, but yes, that was the point I was trying to make.

Sources: Angels managerial search has reached the "finalist" stage.

Buck Showalter is among the remaining candidates.

Decision is expected by the end of the weekend, if not before.
