Any word on blackouts? I was really hoping they would go away with all of this.

I have to believe the 8 player reps decided they were always going to be a “no” vote and fight for more for their coworkers…. They know that once their coworkers agreed enough with a deal to support the offer they could get the votes necessary to offset their 8 no votes

Can’t wait to talk player movement instead of CBAs.

Yeah, the last five years have been terrible for the Astros. Dark days, indeed.

Thank Jesus!

Also, 5 of the 8 players on the executive committee who voted against the proposal were Boras clients. Not a shock. frick that guy.

I like the shift.

I like the 10 team playoff.

I like the DH but like how the national league has stayed old school.

I don’t want ads on jerseys and helmets.

This whole thing blows.

That had to hurt for him to type that. JJ Cooper is the single biggest fan of the Rule 5 draft I've ever seen.

I would assume blackouts arent going anywhere. They protect regional networks and those play a massive part in baseballs revenue

Limit on the number of times a player can be optioned during the season without being DFA'd (last I heard was 5, was previously unlimited)

This will stop the reliever shuttles most teams use. At least a little bit.

Baseball has got the sweetest deal in sports with forced carriage fees. Unfortunately for them it's a dying racket.

Sinclair owns 14 of the 30 RSNs and they're so riddled with debt from the acquisitions, they're barely afloat. Comcast wants to divest their RSN's. AT&T spun theirs off in the Discoery deal. Meanwhile Dish and others have let RSN contracts expire and not renew in an effort to lower costs as they battle cord cutting.

The inevitable future is stand alone in market streaming subscriptions which I'm hopeful are coming soon but I guess we're going to clunk along with the cable model until existing deals expire

Baseball, is dead.

-Ads on jerseys and helmets?
- 12 team playoffs?
- A 45-day window for MLB to implement rules changes -- among them a pitch clock, ban on shifts and larger bases in the 2023 season.
- The National League adopting the designated hitter. :doublebird:

Non-baseball watchers don’t give a frick and diehards hate this BS.

Like the NBA, I’ll likely watch the playoffs only.
