The baseball has been fine. I’m enjoying the hell out of it.

Overall I've enjoyed it. I don't remember the last time I've been able to watch as many consecutive games as I have.

Now when the Braves were in Tampa and when they were down 8-2 to the Mets the other night before coming back I was on the "F*** this just cancel the season" train.

I have never watched more MLB.. in fact I haven’t kept up with MLB in four or so years, but I’m watching every single day and night that it’s on now..

It helps that I’m heavily involved in a competitive fantasy baseball league though.

I’ve seen others saying the quality of play is very poor and basically calling for the season to just end

I've enjoyed every minute, play quality probably not what it might have been but I think the difference is minimal. I'm just glad i can watch my Cubs.

What you are hearing from "others" and for me others are the minions covering the sport, mostly the ESPN guys - the Olney's and the like, is the continuation of the narrative that at this point they've been conditined to uphold and further.

They are "aghast" and "shocked" that there is even and attempt to play during a pandemic and lives are being put at risk, their hearts aren't really into it, they are being forced to play....blah, blah. And they talk the players or coaches who will echo this narrative, not the vast majority who want to play and are loving finally getting back to it.

None of these "others" will peel back the surface of this and break from their colleagues and ask new or different questions, or pose a counter to their worn narrative. It would expose the narrative they have been conditioned to parrot as full of holes and contradictions.

Of the three pro sports Americans follow ( and after a small attempt on opening day) , baseball appears to be the least woke. One day of BLM on the mound seems to be enough. NBA and NFL will be and are hard to watch with the pandering. So don’t lump baseball in with the others.

I'm good with it.

Not being able to go to games sucks obviously, as we usually try and go at least 2-3 times a month. But otherwise it's the same as usual. Every Braves game is on at our house. We're usually working or cooking or whatever while it's on but that's the norm.

Sorry y’all have shitty teams. I’ve enjoyed the Braves so far.

I have not watched a full game of Braves baseball yet. Just don’t want to go all in on a season that may not finish out. Just kind of reluctant to care about any sports this year.

Probably the same people who bitch about spring training and nfl preseason being too long. We are seeing why those things are necessary.

I’m enjoying the hell out of baseball right now with the assumption that every game might be the last for this year

I don’t think the quality is great but that’s to be expected with how fricked up the timelines have been. It’s still a hell of a lot better than no baseball at all

I am happy to have it back. I couldn’t care less about the quality, regular season baseball is just back ground noise for my summers anyway.

Shitty and Braves referenced together, you were on the right path but veered ever so slightly there at the end, try again

I was under the impression today was supposed to be D-day for the MLB. Sounds rather quiet so far.

It's better than nothing, but the amount of injuries, awful hitting, and lack of fans have been a bit of a buzzkill league-wide. As an Astros fan, it's about getting the younger pitchers some work, although they've surprised to the upside.

I can understand Braves fans overlooking it because it's a young team that's on the rise a little bit, and yet you aren't quite there yet, so there's not much to lose.

The A's have kept it on there for at least their first four games so I'm not sure if they are leaving it or just the opening homestand.

What have you and all the upvoters of this post been watching? Probably not MLB games. Or maybe just Rangers and Diamondbacks hitters, runs per game are way up.

I'm surprised they've stood firm as the rhetoric from those who cover it is all aimed at shutting it down...but glad they did. That rhetoric and narrative is very flawed and no one seems to challenge it. Just let them keep yapping their conditioned narrative and play on.
