I fully hated the rule changes at first, but I'm coming around to them. I really like the pitch clock. There was nothing worse than watching a pitcher or batter adjust his balls for 45 seconds between each pitch.
The limiting pitching changes I think is good for TV but not good for the game, I miss the chess match.
The ghost runner, I hate it in the game but I like it in terms of not letting one game affect another game. A 16 inning game could screw up a team for a week and literally frick someone's career because they had to call some pitcher up from the minors to replace the used arms.
I fricking hate that they banned the shift. Yes I hated watching it but I hate when sports legislate against intelligence. Just cause it's boring doesn't mean that its not good strategy. Tell every hitter to bunt it through the opening 3 times and they'll never get shifted on again.
Bigger bases, eh, not really noticeable from a fan standpoint.
Pickoff limit, I fricking love this. Watching a guy throw over to first 8 times between every pitch was infuriating. I know I contradict myself a bit when saying you're legislating against intelligence but then not allowing unlimited pickoffs, but shite that was unwatchable.

13 teams saw an attendance drop, almost half the league.
And 17 saw a gain, more than half.
I would say outside of St. Louis, and we all know the issues there, and one other you mention - the drops seem fairly insignificant.

The MLB has worked to improve its product while its competitors continue make their products worse for both fans in attendance and viewers. Kudos to the MLB, it deserves these attendance and viewership results.

I was against the pitch clock but I agree it's made the games more watchable now.
September baseball with all the wildcard and division races is one of the best times of the year.

I went to seven MLB games this year in seven different stadiums. The crowds were good at every game.

If your team is in the playoffs with a chance to make a real run, post season baseball is the most nerve wracking watch of all the sports.
Bad football L’s, car racing, soccer, or whatever I tend to forget soon enough and move on.
I remember Steve Bartman like it was freaking yesterday

100% agree
MLB is the best pro sports in this country and that's why they're the highest paid $$$

Go look at attendance numbers in the 40's, 50's, 60's - the golden era of baseball when it was said to be America's pastime and get back to us with those numbers.
Attendance is fine, even with the outrageous pricing. The surprise is television ratings, that was in and steady decline and that trend seems to have begun to improve which pleases me because I like MLB.

Without a doubt. As a Red Sox fan I was a mess last night- my stomach was in knots. A big part of it is there isn't a clock. You have to get the outs.

I’m all in now that playoffs have started and not much else is on during week. Just can’t watch reg season games.

It's mostly the pitch clock and the watchability
And I'm sure some will give me grief about this - but there's also been a red blooded traditionalism "vibe shift" this year, which is probably always going to benefit baseball regardless of source (politics, war, etc.). And MLB teams have arguably been the best at pivoting with it. Watching and pulling for the local baseball team is pure wholesome apple pie and I suspect more people have been inclined toward such things this season.

Absolutely, I'm a Cub fan - every pitch is agony so I can't watch at work it - I would be a wreck.

Pitch clock is amazing for a live game. I love it.
Absolutely, games done in just over 2.5 hours. Love it.
