The pitcher and catcher being mic’d up is bad. They’re already devoid of personality. It’s exacerbated when they’re trying to focus on throwing or catching 100mph fastballs.

Especially pitchers and catchers while in action (with some exceptions, obviously… kershaw has been great)

So the ump still calls the balls and strikes but the batter or pitcher can challenge? Is that correct.

Yes.
Ump calls balls and strikes and I believe only the pitcher, catcher, or hitter can challenge the call.
It looked like that hitter was thinking about challenging that called strike three.

Is it just my tv or is the sound absolute shite on fox. Crowd noises and music way too loud and can’t hear anyone talking.
