this is the definition of polishing a turd

quote:not really. They shot 26% from the 3 in the first half. They took the lead because of off rebounds and GS turnovers
They were falling enough in the first half to get the lead.

You almost have to try to miss 27 threes in a row. shite, you'd think one of those would have gone in by accident

quote:
not to mention Harden was fouled 3 times from the behind the arc in the first half
Balances out with the BS calls that were ticky tack he got and the missed calls on Houston that led to points for them like tackling GSW players to get offensive rebounds.
quote:
plus was pushed on moving screen into the Rocket bench = a Curry 3... That's min 9 free throws...plus a free bucket 3...12 pts missing on the score board
Harden hooked Bell and pulled him down not the other way around. I cannot understand how blind some of you are when the replay clearly showed this. We all know Webber is an idiot so don't trust his opinion.
quote:
then Harden made a 3 to start the second half but the fouled was called prior to the shot which looking at the replay in slow motion in HD was so bad of a call it made you think "it's rigged"
that should have been a 4 point play...
Again, this is the price he's going to pay for all his bullshite. The foul happened before he went up. He went up after the contact. Could they have counted it? Sure, but it wasn't unreasonable to call it on the floor. Harden's bullshite play leads to those types of calls.
quote:
these kinds of swings in a game are massive...
bucket one way, not the other way, = can equal a 6 point swing in one single position
Again, this happened both ways. Houston's huge run to take the big lead wasn't without the help of some poor officiating in their favor.
quote:
Houston is 1 player away...I think Paul is enough if he was healthy...
No, they aren't. Again, people bitching about Paul's injury need to realize that GSW's played without a key cog in Iggy for most of the series and only at that point did the Rockets with Paul barely win two games despite that huge advantage.
Fully healthy for both teams, Houston has no shot.

They were 6 of 13 from 3 and up 12 when the streak started. They got the advantage with decent 3 point shooting, then lost it in the ice cold streak.

Missing 27 straight for a team with a 36% 3pt make rate is basically impossible statistically.
The chances of missing 27 straight are .0005% - 5 out of every 1,000,000 chances.
Only if they are unguarded and with no pressure.
I agree with your statistics - if this was practice.
But this is not practice, this is the game. (shout out to Allen Iverson)

Yep. The only explanation is that the Rockets choked under pressure.

Taking 20 + 3s in one quarter is stupid

It wasn't all in one quarter.
ETA - They missed 27 straight from the midway point of the 2nd quarter to the midway point of the 4th quarter. They missed 14 in the 3rd quarter I believe.

I'm a pretty dispassionate NBA fan at this point with no dog in this fight, but how is this even debatable for reasonable fans?
This has become an epidemic in the league with guys flailing to look as if they were attempting a shot the first second anyone brushes up against them within 8 feet of the 3 point line. Oh...players attempted that from time to time years ago, but officials would almost never call that stupid shite so there was nothing to gain in acting like an a-hole. Now, officials seem as though they can't tel the difference between a guy that was ACTUALLY attempting a shot and one that was foisting his arms up after feeling the briefest of contact.
And like you said, Harden may be the biggest culprit for this stupid crap so when a call may be missed he's not really in any position to run around crying about not getting a call.
Personally, I hate this style of play because it really does take away from just how incredibly talented the league is from top to bottom.

I even noticed rookies Lonzo Ball & Kuzma were learning this little trick ( falling to the floor when shooting) in order to get a bogus whistle.
This is the perimeter/ Jump Shooter friendly game the NBA wants . They even sent out a " Freedom of Movement" memo to teams about points of emphasis: No more impeding cutters , screeners , passers (as had happened in the past )which restricts Offendive Player Freedom of Movement.
This game has never been more Jump shooter/ perimeter friendly and the players are just wisely taking advantage. Sucks for us who actually like Basketball.

You might be correct on exactly why they missed 27 in a row.
Missed them intentionally.
I would not be surprised if point shaving was involved.

These are NBA players right?
Has this ever happened that wasn't nefarious?
It's happened in college but they got busted.
Statistically this is basically impossible for NBA caliber players. You have to really try to miss. I almost felt like I wasn't watching sports. It felt like Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan in the middle of the ring.
