He was too busy trying to get individual accolades for Jokic, forgot he needs to actually win games.

Nah seriously Mike was shafted as soon as they paid Murray/Porter and let KCP walk. Not to mention the acquiring of Russ

He lost the team and Jokic isn't happy. I love the move

I really feel like NBA owners are jumping the gun on firing NBA coaches now. Malone literally won the title 2 seasons ago, and had a really strong playoff run last year.

Is it really worth it to fire that same coach after a single mildly disappointing season? That just doesn't make sense to me. At least wait until after the playoffs. No interim coach is going to come in and win an NBA championship. So you basically just punted a potential playoff run for your MVP candidate generational player.

Firing your coach who’s been there 10 years right before the playoffs is wild when you’re only 2 years removed from a championship.

Especially when you see the talent that Jokic doesn’t have around him. He’s never played alongside a teammate who made the all star game with him in Denver.

Just doesn’t make sense…

ETA: I’m not even saying you can’t fire him, but right before the playoffs when he’s someone who’s been with Jokic the whole time. I don’t get it.

Denver got better today. Malone panics as soon as his substitution pattern goes to trash.

Ehh. They won a round then went up 3-2 against the Wolves but got stumped out in gm 6 then lost gm 7 at home.

Getting ahead of the curve. They aren't going anywhere in the playoffs. Kroenke wants to reset now.

4th place in the west and less than 2 years removed from their first ever NBA title. The Nuggets are insane.

And the Pels can't even fire anyone

Did a bunch of NBA owners get together and take acid this year?

Look at the Nuggets plus/minus when Jokic isn't on the floor. Nuggets are an awful team being carried by a historically great player like LeBron with the Cavs back in the day. Now you can blame the roster for not being that good but the impact of a NBA coach is how much they can get out of players who aren't stars, the secondary starters and bench players and the Nuggets have never gotten much production there.

You are 100 percent on point, and I'll add that the Nuggets Defense has always been poor over the years due to bad coaching.

Been saying that for years, people thought I was crazy, Denver has won in spite of Malone due to one player.
