I would imagine okie state wanted him to announce he was stepping down at the end of the season so they could publically start the process of finding a new coach
It appears Gundy said no
So they fired him

Call me crazy, but I think that would be a good spot for Coach O to return
Or make him an interim coach to the end of the year

A little surprised they did it mid-season honestly.
I watched a good portion of the Tulsa game and expected it to happen after the season.

For them to fire him instead of letting him finish out and retire doesn't come across as anything other than a "Thanks for the memories but go frick yourself" ending to his career.
They just lost 69-3 and then lost to Tulsa...

What makes you so sure that this is exactly what happened? You’re assuming. Gundy is a well documented stubborn old school coach. It’s not insane to think he was a jerk here.

Watching the Tulsa game, you could tell it was over. He looked like he was over it all.
I think he’ll be great on CBS or FOX

Greatest coach in okie lite history, just couldn’t adapt to nil.

How in the world can OSU even begin to sell someone on this job?

They are in 1000x better position than they were when Les Miles and then Gundy took over.

?
My first post in this thread I said he probably told somebody high up to frick off. I'm not defending him saying he was done wrong by some prick. I'm saying he probably told somebody high up to pound sand so they turned around and said ok bye bye bitch instead of giving him fond farewell of a sendoff.

He’ll have plenty of time to watch OAN now!
