The punishment is dependent on Michigan making 20 million dollars in postseason revenue over the next two years with Sherrone Moore as coach? LOL.

I'd bet my left arm not a penny of this fine ends up being paid.

The Big Ten (like the SEC) shares its postseason revenue with all members of the conference. And postseason includes any bowl games that any Big Ten team participates in, not just the Playoffs.
So Michigan gets postseason revenue whether it's them in the postseason or somebody else.

Yeah, the fine will get paid

And will be easily backfilled by a billionaire donor

Should have gave them a bowl ban and let players transfer. Gut the program for a couple of years.

This is Michigan, though. Can't do that.

Now if this were Central Michigan...

The NCAA is very rarely in the business of punishing blue bloods

Will Wade gets a two year showcause will Bill Self is lifting a trophy despite being busted doing the exact same thing.

Eastern Michigan will probably get a postseason ban because Michigan cheated. Kinda like the INC academic scandal a few years back. What a joke that was.

Openly cheat and no punishment.

You sell your own items for tattoos or get too much book money and games and champions getting vacated

Sign stealing isn't against the rules. Never has been.

To an extent.

NCAA Bylaw 11.6.1 prohibits off-campus, in-person scouting of future opponents in the same season. he use of electronic devices, such as cameras or video equipment, to record or steal an opponent's signals during a game is also prohibited by NCAA rules.

That’s an absolute slap on the wrist.

If I told you that you could have a national title if you had to pay 2 million and your coach would be suspended for 3 games over the next 2 years, you’d take it in a heartbeat. The school would too.

The amount of money that would be made by winning that title would trump the cost.

It was never going to be anything big. This is a different era of CFB. The ncaa doesn't hold the power it once did. People were fooling themselves if they expected Michigan to get hammered lol

I don’t think any reasonable person was expecting any sort of hammer.

I personally was comparing it against free tattoos and didn’t see any reason that Michigan’s actions wouldn’t warrant a postseason ban.

Not sure how the Big 10 is set up but if they do post season revenue sharing, then they’d get something from the conference no matter what.

Even small bowls have a pay out
