I'm sure getting in the playoffs is preferred over being the first to fire your HC.

But I dunno, I'm not the Dolphins GM.

You're welcome.

So you'd rather not make the playoffs and be the first to fire your HC.

Brilliant!

If a rebuild is imminent because the QB can't stay healthy and the HC continues to prove he's not the guy? Sure.

How quickly would Mike Tomlin get a job if he was fired? Which won't happen, but still interesting to think about.

Completely possible if you choose to not fire a coach for repeatedly going .500.

Look, I'm a Steelers fan and can't say I've been happy about Tomlin's performance going on a decade now. But firing someone who's at 5th in all-time win percentage and a Superbowl winning coach (albeit long ago) isn't something that's very likely. That level of success is difficult to maintain. 11 of his 18 years coaching he's won 10 or more games and another four times he's won 9.

In reality the last few years paired with the years near the end of Ben's career when he was injured were some of the best coaching he's ever done. There were teams that he guided to the playoffs that had no business being there. The 2023 team had zero business making the playoffs and he somehow made it happen.

The franchise leadership combined with his career consistency, no way it's going to happen.

I'm not arguing that Tomlin should be fired. It seems that most NFL owners view head coaches as replaceable and ascribe to some kind of theory that it's best to rotate them out at the first sign of trouble and try to catch lightning in a bottle.

If anything, he Rooney's commitment to coaching consistency is admirable.

I would take Daboll, just because I could see them starting 0-5 and getting rid of him after the Philly Thursday night home game

If they start 0-6, he should definitely be fired after that game; especially since there is a race between them and the Saints for the first 0-17 season...unless the front office wants to lock up that #1 pick before moving on from him

crazy ben johnson makes list but not kellen moore when ben johnson was the ace coach and kellen moore was left over scrubs.
expectations matter. Whether justified or not there’s some pressure on the bears to get shite figured out. Nobody expects shite from the saints.

I don’t care that they just won a Super Bowl. Let the Eagles start 1-3 or 2-2 and people will be calling for Sirianni’s head lmao

I like Zac Taylor at those odds. A terrible defense is nearly a guarantee, an unfortunate injury to Burrow or Chase will really tank it. Could see them dumping him if the offense flat out sucks too for some reason.

The Tomlin one is sneaky value to me. He's had too many years of mediocrity to have the grace for a real stinker

Guys like you are why Vegas makes a killing every year

It’s somewhat possible Tomlin gets fired after the season but there’s like .05 percent chance he would get fired in season and a 0 percent chance he would be the first one fired in season.

The Rooney's have been dying to shed the label of patient owners for 55 years now.

Holding on by the skin of his teeth. Meanwhile, his chosen top 5 QB pick is an utter disaster and Daniel Jones is starting for him.

Not great.

The Giants and the Cowboys would get into a knife fight for Tomlin. You think the fact that Schottenheimer just got hired would deter Jerry Jones?

I'd love to see the odds on Andy Reid.

He could go 0-17, with the Chiefs never scoring a point, plus gun down an entire class of kindergarteners.....and he'd be drawing up KC game plans for 2026-2027.

I think he will make one final bone-headed in-game coaching decision that will do him in once and for all.

I forget who they were playing last year, but they got a turnover in OT that set them up at the opponent's 38-ish yard line and he called for running plays that netted almost nothing, then McPherson missed a 50+ FG, and theh eventually lost.

He got roasted for not letting Burrow try to get them down the field for a shorter FG or a TD

the Falcons start out 0-6 (entirely possible), Raheem could be a decent bet. I'm not sure Arthur Blank would fire a black guy midseason though.

It's a make-or-break year for Raheem. The table is set to win the division, and he has plenty of talent all over the field.

Dunno what he's going to do, as I still don't know what to think about him as HC in his second stint. But the offense should be borderline unstoppable.
